Flanno's New Signings

Legitimately don't blame coaches for this. Even Griffin targetted a bunch of good players. It comes back to the club owners who have no interest in giving players incentives to come be a Dragon.

It is indeed a debacle.
Are there any other Molos we can sign?...
I completely agree with your thoughts here. Our club doesn't have access to cashed up sponsors or anyone influential to get big note signings over the line with TPAs etc and that doesn't look to be changing any time soon.

A step in the right direction would be having a competent head of football for starters who could be responsible for recruitment.

Flanagan can talk up his credentials about how he managed recruitment at cronulla and even if one believes this to be true, the player market is a lot different now to when Flanagan last was a head coach, so he should be relieved of this responsibility and give it to someone who actually has runs on the board in recent times with this.

From there I think given we don't have the influence to sign big name players, we need to start targeting up and comers from good systems who would be wanting a regular spot in first grade and want to buy in to the new direction of the club.

We can all get excited to hear we're talking to Dearden, Fonua Blake, Manu the list goes on, but we're biting off way more than we can chew with these targets. While we waste time trying to recruit players who are using us to get a better offer somewhere else, we lose our chance to sign any decent players with potential and end up signing from the same scrap heap that Flanno found his son, RFM, Eisenhuth etc in.

Lots of ????? Illusion.
Ok do we sit back and take what Flanagan, or lack of what he is giving us.
From memory he said not to expect much in '24 but that things will turn round in '25. This implies that he was confident of snaring one or two elites . Well those elites snubbed us for other clubs. So he signed a couple of mid tier rejects, Eisenhuth, Mariner instead, forced out a couple of good players , Bud and Zac and extended the mid tier Molo brothers. He has also talked one of arguably the least like people at this club into staying. Meanwhile the current wooden spoon holder is already recruiting well for the future, while we continue to wallow in mediocrity.

So far all he has done is forced a couple of good players out , Bud and Zac and extended a couple of lower tier brothers. Meanwhile the current wooden spoon holder is already recruiting well for the future, while we wallow in mediocrity.
You're not honestly going to pretend Bud was a big loss to suit your narrative?

Sullivan asked for release 2022 and again 2023. He was contracted until the end of 2025 with us like Sloane.

In Tigers, He was dropped to bench after first two rounds and Benji thought Sezer and Galvin combo is better. He got his chance again because Galvin was suspended and Galvin will be back next week.

Once Multi Millionaire Luai joins Tigers, word is Tigers will move Sullivan on. who knows he may come back and join the club of those juniors that came back home. Aka Leilua who was our junior and came back via Tigers/Cowboys and Bird who came back via Sharks/Broncos.

Btw, I am not sure what Amone situation is. Once 2 year Ban lifted, will his contract with Dragons reinstated or will he be free to join another club.

Good question re. Amone. I suspect he will be free to join another club. I'm pretty sure his contract was simply terminated.

McInness was let go because it is pretty evident McCullough was in the picture to replace him. King Hunt would have approved that seeing he can do whatever he wants at Saints and McCullough being his best mate he obviously rather him than McInnes. Only for King Hunt to then whinge about Saints recruitment last year being rubbish in the pas which included then bringing in his 3 pals Hook, McCullough and McGuire.

Now people going off at Lomax for demanding centre but King Hunt demands 1/2 back and gets away with it. We cannot have him play Hooker. No way, that would create kaos. Then a player copies their capt's poor attitude and they get shafted. Media not once going off that King Hunt only wants to play halfback. I applaud Flanno for putting Lomax at wing as he has been dynamite, if only he can do the same with Hunt at hooker because him at half is has not really made Saints a force.
Exactly!

When Flanno was appointed, he told Bud he wasn't wanted. That's when he was released.
I thought we said if you get a better offer you are free to go BUT we won't be paying any money towards your contract, they went out got a better offer and we released him, either way Flanno didnt want him, thought he was on a big contract..
