I think our judgement will come end of year.. the guys hes missed might well prove to be the right call.. but if it means we end up buying junk players instead.. it'll be a flop.. he must have something in mind (the cash has to be spent).. I just hope for all of our sakes he can land the big deal(s) when they come up.

I also do wonder if there is a way to pay out Lawrie/Ravas 2026 money into the 2025 budget if we have it spare? Be done with them..

I'm still hopeful Flanno delivers on:
2 x big bopper first-class props
A decent swap for Hunt
JAC
1. Holms
2. JAC
3. Suli
4. Allan
5. Tuipulotu
6. Wishart
7. Flannagan
8. New Prop
9. Cook
10. New prop
11. Leilua
12. Sua
13. De Belin

14. Liddle
15. Molo
16. T Couchman
17. R Couchman

Let's hope that this 17 is in place before off-season training.

Geez possm, you don’t hope for much between now and when preseason starts.
Fox, Wishart, Hunt gone and 2 big bopper props. I’m tipping you will be very disappointed in the next 6 weeks or so

Who even bothers getting their hopes up anymore? Disappointment is a permanent state around here. Nothing to lose by listing a completely unrealistic fantasy team. Not much to gain either. What’s funny is some of the power clubs would look at that team and scoff. Not enough rorting.

We gave up a young Ferrari for an ageing Toyota Camry sportivo
just hope the sportivo doesn’t decline much in performance in the next three years
Weren’t you just complaining about not signing RCG, even though it was because Flanno wouldn’t budge on the 3 year deal he wanted. Yet, now you’re saying that Holmes who’s 2 years younger at 29, is an ageing Toyota Camry?

It's all in the timing and mix of players we need in our 17.
In our 17 we need a good forward pack and a mix in our backline of youth and experience. To win a comp we need excellent defence all over the park, especially at fullback, and a backline that can attack on the back of a good platform made by our forward pack. We need Lodge and JAC who are available. If Wishart is not available, then let's take Reynolds on a 12 month deal/swap for Hunt.

If you are referring to Lomax as the Ferrari you need to get your eyes fixed.
You can't honestly say that you think Lomax is a better centre than Holmes? Apart from age, Holmes beats him in every category as a centre.

Holmes is good in attack but defensively not so good
NSW found him out in origin and so did many other sides
Lomax is a very strong defender and has a superior all round game to Val

Lomax is a very good player but I believe Holmes is better especially under presure
Hard to compare in some ways. Zac only really, really peaked in the last 18 months while Holmes has been up and down for a long while. Had him my fantasy team last year and watched him closely -bog average. Haven’t watched as much this year but reports were he is playing well despite some defensive trouble.

Lomax has been outstanding in a fairly average team. Defensively brilliant and younger, more physical. Both kick goal very well. Overall I think we lose out slightly but I’ve been wrong about players before.
