Florida Regional Rugby League

Jax have announced the first team for the new 'Florida Regional Rugby League' (a tad wordy for me) being 'Adrenaline Rugby League'. Not sure where they are from, probably Jax itself.

More team names and logos are coming - you can see this on their facebook page

Jacksonville is sizable enough to have themselves enough people to host a few teams I would imagine... if they can find enough interested.

only a couple hours from jax.
jax will have a reserves team too, not sure where the other will come from.
also the possibilty axemen players could be shared amongst the 3 reserve teams, so maybe no official axemen named reserve team

The third team will be based at Daytona Beach.

There is a fair chunk of distance still between the sides, Orlando and Jacksonville are over 220km's apart, I would of thought they'd try to get the sides a bit closer, still great work by the Jacksonville Axemen!

Here's hoping over time, all the major towns/cities in the Florida region are represented.

I'd love for them to get a team based at UNF or something. Could be a foot in the door to getting the game into the college system. Something I feel is extremely important in growing the game in the US.

I would say an official move on UNF would be clearly a good step. Getting a foothold in the Universities is crucial as RL moves forward.

Daytona is the home of NASCAR in the USA. It has a huge auto racing history. It is also the home of Bike Week. Between the two there is a great number of car and bike people there. "Gearhead" is the affectionate work for a "rev head" tappethead" etc, etc who loves working on cars, engines and bikes.
