Mark Geyer has an interesting article on Fox Sports (sorry cant post the link) regarding the Folau 'trainwreck' as he calls it.

I listened to the interview. He makes some very good points, hard to argue with most of it. Except the part that he says Hook probably had nothing to do with the Folou pursuit. It was probably Hooks idea. Same manager as Folou.

As matter of interest why didn't the NRL state emphatically that IF would never be able to register a contract ever again straight after the incident involving Folau and they could have backed that up by saying that any club that makes an approach re the issue will be penalised $$$$ in respect of their cap if they did so?

Why didn't the players association make a statement that if the NRL ever allowed IF back into the game they would call a strike?

Such statements by the NRL and the players association would certainly appear to appease many of those up in protest at this time.

I just finished my rant about Cam in another section and now on to Folau. If losing Cam wasnt bad enough, to then go and try to sign up Folau!! This is meant to be a new beginning we were told and then they do this-wow this will really gain us some more supporters by signing Izzy up.What were they thinking?? Ive already handed over my money for this season again for 2 tickets. I thought things might be better-but this start is just plain lunacy.We lose one of our best players and then we go and try and stir up the biggest storm possible. Im really tired of all of this. As a supporter for over 60 yrs now, watching this downhill run by us eventually will take its toll. I try to watch football for enjoyment not to be constantly annoyed by the idiots who run us. Im watching V'Landys saying the 3 grades are returning and im so so happy, then i read what the Dragons are doing and the happiness is gone. Please bring back Wayne-at least then we could see a way to the top. At the moment we just rudderless and with a pack of dopey sharks desecrating our ground. Things have to get better than this surely

The Referendum was 61% in favour gay marriage.
Still 39% of the australian population is a big number of people who dont deserve to be ignored or at least told how to think.

Every poll taken for years had said that the Australian population overwhelmingly supported same-sex marriage. If voting had been compulsory it would still have easily passed.

Only last week we have a perfect example of how free our speech is in this country:

The elected head of our country being lambasted and ridiculed in a public place by people wanting to make a point.

Whilst I believe the spear goes a bit too far, the fact is this painting was allowed to go up, and nobody was arrested for it.

If anything, it helps to further the debate around the date.

That’s free speech.

In plenty of other countries around the world if you tried something like that about their leader, there would be massive repercussions for those who did it.

Who is telling you how to think? You're not the victim here.

It was a plebiscite. At least get that right.

39% is not a big number. In electoral terms 61% is considered a landslife. Only 17 out of 150 electorates voted No to Same Sex Marriage. Your side was thrashed.

You have no mandate, the best you can do is show some dignity and accept the result.

And why is that the losers of the plebiscite always try to round the % in their favour? If you're going to round the numbers, then it is 62% Yes, 38% No. At the time I saw one homophobe on TV trying say they got 40%.

I can only put it down to some lame attempt at denial, and very Trumpesque.
