I feel happy and confident about our new coaching staff. I think it would be more advantageous to rid ourselves of some poor performing and overpaid players prior to pre-season training mainly because the coaching staff can start a fresh with the least resistance from the player squad.
Rather than spend a whole lot of time trying to correct bad habits, they could spend their energy improving skills and forming combinations. Less bad attitude and more willingness to learn and improve.
Yes- now we have to endure patronising comments from "funky"Fittler about the Dragons coaching team being "old school" and unlikely to move the Dragons up the ladder. Of course he's part of the Nine/SMH media cartel with Gus so you could expect little else.
Well "funky', in what "new school" universe were you operating when you left Zac Lomax out of your original train on squad? You've waxed lyrical about him being the "gifted one" and at the very least he would be the best of the back up goal kickers if Nathan Cleary went down- (I doubt that Moses would still be in the Blues run on plans- Keary and Pearce would be ahead of him)
But Tommy Turbo's injuries, which were common knowledge, IMO made Lomax a must for the train ons and in line for selection for the right centre position.
I understand that Lomax is now on stand by- whatever than means. I've always supported the Blues but I now find myself hoping that "old school" Bennett wipes the smug grin off funky's face.
