They are recognised as two diferent teams. Newcastle Knights entered the competition in 1988, their premiership records/history does not include the Newcastle team of 1908-09. And the question asked didn't state whether the bulldogs played against the teams or not. It said name all NSWRL/ARL/Superleague/NRL teams.
