This weekend would have to rank up with one of the worst on record in the NRL.

Bulldogs played the most boring style of football I've seen in my life. Their game plan when inside the Raiders 20m was "run one-off at Shaun Fensom". Fensom, and the Raiders defence had little problems.

The Panthers v Tigers game was a snooze fest featuring 36 errors.

Not to be outdone the Warriors V Souths game produced 42 howlers.

As a Knights fan it was painful to watch their attack. The did nothing for the first 60 minutes. Only reason they stayed in the game was because the Roosters were equally as bad, and couldnt capitalise on their chances. When the Knights got back in the game, all they did was put up mid-field bombs, and the multiple sets where they tried to play touch football and threw the ball around like a hot potato was dreadful.

And the Sharks v Eels game was always going to be one-sided, when you take away Gallen, Snowden, Smith, Kelly and Gardner, they are left Douglas playing 80min (or close to it) at prop....

Not much of a suprise considering the round featured teams numbered 16th, 15th, 13th, 12th, 11th, 10th, 9th, and 8th, 7th and 6th.

Not sure you can blame it too much on Origin though;

Canberra; Dugan
Bulldogs; Ennis
Tigers; NONE
Panthers; Civoneceva, Jennings
Warriors; Lillyman
Rabbitohs; NONE
Roosters; Pearce, Myles
Knights; Uate
Eels; Mannah
Sharks; Gallen, Snowden

Lets just hope Origin isnt a fizzer too.

this round has been absolute rubbish dished up to all and sundry.

The comp needs to be suspended for origin, play it in 3 consecutive weeks then continue on with the comp.

He's right though, this was the worst quality round of rugby league I can remember.

I took joy in the Raiders game purely because it was an important win, but at no other point this round was the rugby league particularly enjoyable. I fell asleep in the Roosters/Knights game, I watched 5 minutes of the Tigers/Panthers game at the pub before deciding the beer garden was a better option and I didn't bother going to watch tonights game because you could tell it was going to be a shocker.

Hopefully we have gotten rid of the bad week and the quality will return on Wednesday.

Who re-posts Rothfield FFS.

The guy's a f**king gossip columnist.

Well I was going to post the thread yesterday anyway. Then I stumbled across this article, and reminded me. His article is still joke though, as pointed out by the fact Origin has had very little to do with round being so shit (no team with more then 2 players out).

The injury lists of the Roosters, Knights, Tigers, Souths, Sharks etc. has been the major factor, with Origin taking a few more key players.

There is either a serious lack of depth in the competition, or some seriously poor coaching. Because I've seen park footy games of higher quality then this weekend.

Either solve the injury crisis (near impossible), or do some serious rading of talent from other comps/codes, or else we might struggle to field teams 17 and 18 for a full 26 round premiership season.

I think the problem is there are a lot of teams trying to be the Dragons and be 'clinical'. Unfortunately they aren't good at it, and it's boring as batsh*t to watch.

Give me free-flowing rugby league over a kick deep for possession game any day of the week.

I went out to the Roosters v Knights game with a mate, and I swear I drifted off to sleep in the first half.

First half of the Dogs Raiders was ok. 2nd was ordinary.
Tigers v Panthers was forgettable, despite the close score.
Eels v Sharks was yawn worthy

I don't get it, most of the teams who played this weekend only had 1 or 2 out due to origin.

Excuses, excuses. What about Parra's missing brigade?

He's right, it was pathetic. Origin has nothing to do with it though and Buzz is still a cocksmoker

I sure as hell enjoyed my night out at the footy. After being belted a kajillion to nil by the Storm and Dragons, it was nice to rack up a score of our own.

And, really - Parramatta has struggled all year. The match may not have been top quality, but I cannot see how it was dull - unless you were supporting the Sharks. Sure, I am biased because my team won. But we played well, I thought.

It was a terrible round of football. I think people are being harsh on the tigers whilst they were terrible at least they were terrible whilst trying to throw the ball around. What is worse is teams being so structured that they wont try anything creative they will do the same things over and over again that is what makes the game boring.

More and more teams are doing 5 hit ups and kicking it is ridiculous.

Poore's hopless
Maitua... does he still exist?
Reddy is solid at best

Timmy Mannah is a gun.
You were missing one player worth feeding.

Maybe so, mate. But he listed a few blokes that weren't worth feeding, either!

Point is....Hayne for NSW fullback. :sarcasm:

Seriously, though - I only watched the Eels-Sharks game and whilst it wasn't the greatest quality game ever, I cannot see why it's labelled a snooze-fest.

But to each their own.

Yes, because Poore and Maitua :)lol: really? Maitua?) have played so much football this year....

Mannah was the only noteworthy exemption from your squad this week. Reddy to an extent, but he hasnt been a crucial part of your team this season. His loss is cancelled by Snowden.

When you can only muster up 4 unavailable players, 2 of which havent played this year, 1 of which who started training friday, your clutching at straws.
