I don't know how you can call Sam a panic buy it was always on the cards from the day he left that he would be back after the World Cup. Plus it was all sorted in about November wasn't it?

Most rosters are settled by November for next year, some clubs have a little left for a cheap player released, or sometimes there is a positional merry-go round (was centres last off season). When sam announced his desire to come back to rugby league souths were pretty much settle for 2016. When sam announced his comeback there was only 2 realistic options, 1. Come back to souths, 2. Go to leeds on a marquee player contract. We basically had a bidding war with a rich club who could pay whatever they wanted for him. We lost out heavily in that war as 'we absolutely had to have him as he'll lif the whole team- (which he hasn't' and as a result we lost 3 rep players. Now if we had let sam go with leeds (which would of been short term thing as he would of itching to get back to the nrl) for a season we could of kept dylan, mcqueen and Grant (amd possibly grevsmuhl for 2017) and had a whole year to figure out how to fit sam in the cap. That year could of seen us get rid of shadows 'duds', guys like maybe tyrell, keary, goodwin etc and could of given guys like mcinnes, c.walker, musgrove and turner an extra year to develop without the pressure of 'sams back souths are favourites again'. So going into 2017 we will lose grevsmuhl and go into the year with shadows 'duds' plus no room to sign any decent players, while if we didn't panic we'd have a year of developing and maybe making the 8 (which is what we have now, now that sam isn't the miracle fix everyone expected) and we could of gone into 2017 with a team that looks like this

1. Inglis
2. A.J
3. Hunt
4. Walker
5. Gray
6. C. Walker
7. Reynolds
8. T. Grant
9. Mcinnes
10 g. Burgess
11. Turner
12. Sutton
13. S. Burgess

14. Carter
15. Mcqueen
16. T. Burgess
17. Musgrove

18. Auva'a
19. Clark
20. Grevsmuhl (maybe)
21. Cook
22. Brown

I'm not sure Leeds was ever a real option. I know it was mentioned in the media but I don't think it was ever likely to happen.

why is cook 18th man this friday night against the donkeys?for god's sake mcinnes is slow as a turtle and cook is like phar lap what''s with madge and our selectors are they all on the dr jekyl and mr hyde pills too?

why did souths resign and keep the same (dud player recruitment officer) again?it makes no sense he needs to be sacked on the spot! but to be honest the last 6 rounds have not made any sense in player selections either it spins my head all this chopping and changing it seems our selectors and madge are not getting it right are they.

and lastly what is rusty and pacman doing to address our poor recruitment drive past and present and our poor player team selections are nothing bar appalling.

once sutto and aj and musgrove return we will fair a lot better but i believe sutto is being sorely missed by a country mile hurry up back johnny sutton.

Funny how shadow wanted Pearce burnt at the steak for not having sex with a dog but stealing a car and crashing it (whilst possibly under the influence, although I'm not 100% on that) which is a much worse offence doesn't seem to bother him.

George Burgess's hip injury seems to have affected him. Inevitable I suppose, after performing like that in 2013 and 2014. His body couldn't do that for too long. Need to sign a middle-forward. Craig Kopczak? Ok, I just want a Welshman in the team.

Seriously though, Greg Inglis has gone, either shift him to five-eighth or sell him.

Well done, but your sentence should have a full stop at the end and a capital letter for Pommy one because it's a name and two because it's the first word in a sentence.
Conveniently dodged my questions about him playing for St George and his behaviour though.

Then what about your first post? Why don't you want him banned for life like you did Pearce?

Can't argue at all shadow.

Great post.

Full of brilliant truth telling.
