With the storm having to offload atleast two of these guys and mick crocker stating he may retire come seasons end due to injury ( hes only 27 and we have a decent record of turning injury prone players around), I believe we could sign some of these guys ( maybe 2) with the extra cash we have. Lima and Blair would be great, especially considering blair is an international and hasnt been getting much time down at melbourne, I think there is a possibility that we could sign these guys but will our management try to?

If they let Lima go before, I dare say he wouldn't be interested in coming back.

The two players they are releasing are Garret Crossman of to Hull KR and Ben Cross of to Newcastle. Crocker is talking of retiring at the end of 2008.

he hasn't played for penrith, so those odds drift out to 2-1

And Sheens' response?

Didn't speak to Sheens personally about this matter, only Noyce who was going to pass on the info to McDonnell as well. Noyce said he didn't have his number and would chase it up through one of the other boys(perhaps Bronson or TNT).

good to see we may pay double to a go we let leave instead of keeping him and giving him a go.

Geez its amazing what happens when people are given a chane, i reckon if Cooper Cronk played in our lower grades he would still be looking for his first grade debut.

Sounds pretty unprofessional all round....you sure he wasnt geeing you up?

99% sure it was no gee up. The conversation we had was not of one in jest. It really sounded like he was disappointed his previous contract was not extended and just wanted to play good footy with his good mates. Didn't even seem to be about the money or anything of that nature. He is not the first player i have had a chat with that feels this way about the player retention.
Here is a quote from another WT player from a few weeks ago "i don't want to be at a club that i don't feel welcome at".
Some serious issues amongst a few people.

Here is another story i have from Townsville early in the season of 2006. Group of us were at Cowboys Leagues Club, Ray Cashmere spots us Tigers fans and comes and sits for a chat and drink and to catch up on 2005. He clearly stated to us he was bought by Cowboys for $60K a season(who then went on to upgrade his contract value after stunning performances with the Young Guns). Few of us fans relayed this message back to the club way before his contract was raised to $100 or $120K by the Cowboys. Our club wouldn't have a bar of him when all we had to do was match the original $60K he was on up there.

I would guess the Lima request will be the exact same outcome.

Even hindsight doesn't become 20/20 vision for "some people".

Crouching did any of the WTF partake in the poke for a smoke being offered by the Bowens in the mall ? Running the gauntlet from the mad cow to the Holiday Inn was like playing bull rush. Our club is run by f**king clowns. We should just get used to it

WTF?? JFTR i am NOT part of the WTF.

But as for the MBFC(Matty Bowen Fan Club) in the mall, i hear they are merging with the WTF for a new joint venture supporters club.

Hahah. The could have an exchange students type program
They could swap Leumeah for the mall and vice versa
There is a WTF member who I think could potentially be a MBFC plant
Seen rummaging through MArtin Place phone booths for eg
