Fair's fair. If he cops this suspension 2 weeks ago, he missed out on the GF. If he cops it today, he misses a few trials. No dramas

Absolutely infuriating!

I do not know what you have to do to get sent off anymore. A big heavy set player coming down on another player's face with full force of an elbow. That's just about as bad as it gets, full of intent...and he'll miss two trial matches.

Disgusting.

don't know if it's posted here, but Rose is looking at 2 weeks for that cheap shot.

That is, he'll sit out 2 whole trials, good too see the judiciary is coming down hard on this stuff...sigh.

I don't believe any trials should be included for suspensions but the rule has recently changed and only 1 trial can be used for suspensions. So the suspended player is ruled out of all other trial matches (after the first) if there are more weeks to serve but those missed trials do no count.

I've always said that a sent off player should be allowed to get replaced, and this pretty much strengthens that thought.

I believe if they had the option of sending off without it deciding the game then Rose would've been gone.

I understand your logic, but that would lead to guys wearing number >13 destroying a lot of guys wearing 1, 6, 7 and 9.

Perhaps sent off and can be replaced after 10 minutes (so the victimised team gets a substantial benefit to compensate).

At any rate, I think there is a problem with the referral system right now because players who do something very, very minor are getting the exact same treatment as the decapitators, elbow merchants and other grubs.

Refs are using the current system as an easy out.

Couldn't agree more!

The refs, MRC and Judiciary need a serious overhaul imo.

10-20 years ago maybe, but in the age where talent is evened out, no club can risk having players rubbed out continuously for foul play whetheer they're first teamers or bench players. All it takes is a couple of losses to drop down the table.

The idea that it would lead to the return of deliberate thuggery really isn't one I can see happening.
