Tate in the conversation too

They didn’t play much but Renouf and ET were in the era too

Yeah, Tate and Cooper are the big omissions, but I would say that this is their best list.

I'd go-

1- Inglis
2- Lyon
3- Hodges
4- Gasnier
5- Girdler
6- Gidley
7- Tate
8- Cooper

Inglis was immense in big games... but for me week in week out the likes of Lyon, Girdler, Cooper are who I’d take. And personally I think Gasnier and Inglis are, at their best, the two you’d want for one game

Yeah. I thought pretty hard about Lyon being #1- but Inglis just had the ability to turn a game on its head.

Vagana is the name I couldn’t think of before, had some big years

Look at the NRL now and centre is the weakest position by a mile, can’t even get specialists into rep sides these days

Personally Lyon is my number 1, could do it all and had more to his game than the others, best way to show that is the service the men outside him received, Wolfman became a rep player, as did Will Hopoate then Hiku was up among the top try scorers with the ball he was getting

Yeah Vagana was terrific for a while, and I’m astonished Cooper was omitted while Mitchell there

Girdler is undervalued imo he was great, guess the issue with Lyon is rep stuff which is where others excelled

State of centres atm is indeed dreadful

George Rose made a comment that it was always a dream of his to take a hitup after Tookey

Wish someone would sit down with tommy and write a book, it would be amazing

Eion Crosson must have been close

Luke Covell too

I’d have Mario and Roycie every day..

Good to see a couple of Warriors and big Olsen, what an enigma he was

Sheesh, does the wing selection show the obvious Oz bias in these? Manu is rated bloody low considering he scored roughly the same amount of tries as the guy rated number 1 in less games and playing for the Warriors.

Don't underestimate Origin and its ability to over-hype players, particularly when it comes to people recalling 'great' players from the past.

Wiki doesn't belong on this list.

Luke Bailey. James Graham. Adrian Morley. Off the top of my head.

Yeah I struggle with the NRL era... but Bailey was a terrific prop, as is a Graham in a different way, and Morely just insane...

Is Lazarus’ peak pre NRL? He’s the best on that list, no mistake... top 5 are all legit greats, and Bromwich heading that way

I expect Bromwich would be higher if he was an Aussie ... surprised not to see Graham there, as they love him in Oz.

Aside from Wiki I don’t think Bromwich should be higher... guess he’s close to Scott, perhaps
