If i was in the opposition i wouldn't even bother watching it and keep warming up by throwing and kicking the footy about- it's way over done now and i have to laugh when i see the non Maoris doing it.

Why don't other New Zealand National sides like the All Whites in Soccer/ Black Caps in Cricket/ Tall Blacks in Basketball etc do the Haka??

your well within your right to do that...

but ive seen it happen twice...

Bledisloe Cup 1996 - in Wellington... The Wallabies got thumped 43-6

Rugby League World Cup 2008 - in Newcastle... England got beaten 36-24

I'm sure the French expected to be fined when they advanced. Even I knew that neither team was allowed to go past the 10 when the haka is on. I'm sure they made a decision that the money was worth the psychological advantage. So pay up.

Agree.

In football it's not allowed, no country can do anything like that before a game. The Tall Blacks do one. In Cricket it would be ridiculous. I'm not a haka fan but if its going to be done it should stick to Rugby and League. And like has been said the other team should be pretty much allowed to do what they want, they should just go do a huddle or truck and trailer in their own in goal.

When did this rule come into being? Was it after the quarter in Cardiff in 2007?

Google is your friend... the rule was put in place many years ago, despite the NZRU not wanting it bought in... it was relaxed from not crossing the 10 to not crosing halfway last year.. your claim it was bought in to "protect" the All Blacks is just plain stupid.

Campo used to do it, regardless of what the rest of the team did. I recall him practicing kicking etc back near the goal line when the Haka was being performed.

I like the idea of standing as a team to accept the challenge. Show some respect and then get on with it.

The worst reaction was the blow-them-a-kiss from Sam Scott-Young.

How was I claiming that the ABs were being protected? I was merely saying that I don't remember France being fined in 2007 despite coming even closer to the haka than on Sunday night.
