You are right posm about JDB being found not guilty, but you can't tell me his moral compass is not out of whack.
Also you don't have to go back to far when JDB was found under the bed hiding from the authorities. I don't think he learnt a thing from his earlier ordeal.
In my younger days, plenty of mates went out on the town and satisfied their needs with girls that were willing. Some were married some were not. It was not my scene however, it did not bother me. Everyone to their own I say.

Every night the boogeyman checks under his bed for JDB…in all seriousness, how this club didn’t part ways with JDB after the bed saga is beyond me. Given a second chance, he decided to be an absolute f**kwit.

Nah. JDB and Packer would say something along the lines of…no matter how much of a f**kwit you are…and even if you end up in jail…there will always be shitty clubs like the dragons that will pay top $ for you
Packer is doing quiet well now running a business and may have learned that hard lesson of going to jail.
People can and do redeem themselves though and I believe Packer did not step a foot wrong playing for our club.
Tigers thought he was worthy of a try too
Yes he $#%&ed up but he has paid his price.
You need to let it go
JDB's only crime is as someone mentioned a misguided moral compass
As far as the bed incident... 14 others and many that still play at our club fled from the scene so what does that make them

Found not guilty on one charge and the jury were unable to reach a verdict on the other five charges. I'm ambivalent about the whole incident so just ensuring the facts are stated.
So he was not found guilty on any of the charges then. Glass half full stuff there regardless of your personal opinion of the matter. That also are the facts that can be stated

Agree with what you said mate. But JDB was the one who really stands out for me from that incident. After getting arrested and being stood down by the league, the club stood by him and even resigned him when they could have let him go. I reckon JDB owed the club immensely. For him not to listen to what the club told him to do makes him a bigger f**kwit then the rest of them me thinks.

People are speculating that it’s all ok and nothing to see.

But what’s to say it wasn’t Ok and it was cruel?

We understand he was drunk too.

No one seems to be doing much about it.

The club might be waiting for the NRL which is piss poor.
To me it’s really easy.

If it’s very minor, than the sentence in a few weeks will be very minor. If it’s nasty he may very likely serve a term of imprisonment (and that’s the cue for the NRL and the Dragons to get involved) it’s also the cue for us to throw our toys out of our cots.

I think the charge itself, domestic violence, him pleading guilty to it, should spark if not a sacking, then a club stand down until it’s cleared up.

If I was a big sponsor, I’d want something more than “ wait and see”

There’s a guy who recently committed an act of domestic violence, no question he’s admitted it, he's wearing my brand and indirectly representing me.

I’m not too comfy with that.

My own work would not support sponsoring sgi under these circumstances . staff would complain. That’s not us. I reckon some people would strike, including one of the girls a couple of desks away who got bashed by a coward once, years before she joined us. Say another 3 or 4 of us we’d force the issue.

Why the f**k did he do something like this that got the cops involved. Idiot.

Just my view on it. You may not agree, that’s all fine.

I once met Packer & had a good chat to him.
Is very quiet almost shy & was open about his indiscretions & remorseful.

I did previously comment how I understand that view point. I think I would be too harsh if I had overall say in who should be kicked out of the game for good.

I think the NRL should promote ethical and moral behaviours. A lot of people won’t agree, as we all have different opinions. In my opinion ( ( and without naming anyone) there’s been too many current players who have previously committed violence against their partners and others in the community. I just think they should recruit good decent people. My view if the clubs can’t sack them they should be encouraged not to renew their contracts. But we all know that will never happen. It’s a real blight on the game. A lot will say what about forgiveness. Okay I will forgive you but you have lost your privilege to earn big money. You can join the rest of us, you can work hard for a fraction of the money. Lessons learnt and forewarning for those currently playing.

So that’s where I’m at, but my problem with this current matter is the offence, I saw the definition posted, but it’s still very open to interpretation. This might be off topic but I remember many years ago I’ll use an example of ‘a lady I know’ came back to our table crying. I asked what happened and was told the lady serving the dinner was really rude. It appeared to me the ladies abruptness upset her to the point she was brought to tears and felt intimidated.

Another ‘young person(14 or 15) I know’ was yelled at by a male. The
Young person was found crying in the sheds.

Examples of intimidation, maybe. Probably need more detail but both may.

One final example from a newspaper article in relation to serious threats of harm texted to a partner whereby the offender was convicted of intimidation and sentenced to a period of incarceration.
First offence.

That’s what makes it hard for me, I have no issues in not supporting players where some evidence is known as with Amone, that’s totally unacceptable, there’s concrete evidence, he can’t even BS his way out. Sorry son go lay some bricks you’re out

Might unearth another Johnny Raper, who used to play with the Police sides if I remember correctly…
Brian Moore was a no nonsense center from Newtown who was also a police officer and in later years a detective , just the bloke who could had shown our sinners a few home truths about themselves .

I believe he was a great believer in the good old fashioned phone book against the face manner of questioning , so as it left no blemishes upon the face . 🤕

Some good points.

He’s admitted to a stalk or intimidate and as I understand the charge, it has to have the element of intent as well as the conduct.

That makes sense because say if the waitress was abrupt but didn’t mean to be, even if it upset the nice friend, it would be fatal to the charge. It could not be sustained.

So if Molo has pleaded guilty, then he must have accepted the intent to either stalk or intimidate.

Then we turn to the actual conduct and as we know, he’s not admitting to the conduct alleged by Police. Until a deal is struck or the court makes a finding, we won’t know what he’s done.

But if he hadn’t intended some stalk or intimidate he should not have pleaded guilty.
Some people plead guilty when they shouldn’t as was mentioned earlier in the thread.

I am wondering if the facts allege that he intended something which he says he didn’t intend and he could be challenging that. But the intention, some degree of it, remains.

Also, it is a domestic violence charge, but it is not a domestic violence order. There could be one of those as well.

But if the cops were not especially concerned with the serious case, they could have sought the domestic violence order, which has easier proofs for them and less onerous outcomes for Molo. But they believe it’s more serious.

He would just need to obey conditions if he accepted an domestic violence order and could do so without admitting to facts. Its only if he is found to have breached an avo it that it becomes criminal. The nature of the breach will determine custody or not.

Just jumping across to your side, as far as we know, the Office of the Director of Prosecutions is not seeking beyond 2 or 3 years full time as they haven’t elected to take it up stairs on indictment.

So whatever he’s done, it’s not at the lower end or the higher end.

But he intended to be a creep and that’s by his own admission.

I can’t take your Amone thoughts any higher than you have. He deserves his rights to process ( as also championed here) but the case against him appears compelling.

So given the above, if it is correct, on the balance, I’m not comfortable with him slipping back into the side as if nothing has happened.

If the club and the nrl want to ignore his intent, I think that’s problematic and I prefer a more serious treatment.

There was a vulnerable female involved and grog.
