In reference to meaningless matches. I would say that the league internationals you mention including the likes of Holland, Serbia etc this year were for a spot in the ENC so they were not meaningless.

As far as the ANZAC Test, I would say it was a meaingless match, yes, in terms of winning a competition.

Now another poster, Calixte, is a liar/dreamer or whatever your chosen phrase is. Jeez, you don't like something and automatically the person uttering it is a liar......

As for rugby union deliberately trying to damage rugby league, I suggest you read the French government's report into the Vichy running of sport in France during WWII (it was published around 2002 - 2003).

That document should also satisfy any concerns that the whole thing is made up.
