He didnt break his jaw its just they badaged under his jaw & around his head....he stayed on and played the game out....Parra players went on a Head hunting spree tonite and its just fortunate that no-one was seriously injured....PL standars ref (cecchin) contributed to the downfall of the game...poor 10 all nite....Parra got all the 50/50 calls....still dunno how Pearson got that final penalty Mr Cecchin?
Parra very fortunate IMO.

50/50 calls!!! your joking aern't you??

first of all great game, a good hard slog for both teams and I still believe both teams will be competative this year.

what about our disallowed try????...I spoke to Luke Burt after the game and he was certain it was a try.

Yeah, those pesky 50/50 calls always seem to go to the other team don't they... maybe we should break out the violins.

Ah whinge whinge whinge!

Quit your whining, you baby!

That's football!

SO what if the ref was on our side tonight? It happens!

Just be gracious in defeat!

Sounds like it was a good tuff game. Glad we didn't win comfortably because I think we needed a bit of a wake up call heading into round one. Make no mistake, the Dogs will be a very tuff match, scandal or no scandal.

My main concern is hearing young Michael Witt is playing off the bench in Premier League?????? What's the go there?

LOL - so if Luke Burt says it was a try its a try? ahahahahahahah

Sorry, but neither team showed any consistent form that will allow them to compete with the big boys

You are spot on about both teams last night, Lets just hope it turns around for both our teams so we can compete with the Bigboys once again.

Is it possible Smith had instructed the guys to play up the middle, just to finalise his forward pack for the first few rounds.

It was a trial after all.

The halves combination is a worry for me, we have three good halves but in the trials we have not seen any combinations of Witt, Dykes and Thorman, for a sustained period, and I would have thought that the trials were the time to sort those combinations.

Instead we've seens Wags and Brett Delany at 5/8 on more than one occasion. I dont think that their immediatede future is at 5/8.

Hodgo had a decent game, but he got smashed quite a few times, and was all bandaged up for most of the second half. Wise absolutely creamed him (legally) to save a try after a long back line move where Hodgo only had to make the pass to the winger and they would score. The tackle forced Hodgson to knock-on and play was stopped for a few minutes while they tried to pick him up off the deck .

How can you get a jaw injury from a 'legal' tackle?

We're talking about Hodgson here. For almost two years the guy has been getting injured if he stepped on a twig. It aint that difficult to get all sorts of head injuries in legal tackles. Head hitting the ground for one...

Great game though for a trial....why didnt the touchies have flags?

A Robert Finch initiative that was supposed to make the touchies concentrate more on communication with the ref - apparently something that WON'T be tried in the regular season.

Well the big hit on Hodgo by Kativerata looked legal, it seemed the contact was either with Kativerata's head or shoulder, it certainly wasn't a dodgy hit, he just lined him up and smashed him with a big shoulder charge, although it was more a full body charge. Saved a try, which was lucky because it was Kativerata's fault that overlap anyway. It looked great, we were right in front of it, too.

Hodgo went great but, no denying it.

I have never heard a Parra supporter call Hodgson crap....we all know he's a great player but we didn't offer him the biggest contract due to his injury concerns!!

I still think we done the right thing....and Ash Graham will be a great player in the future.

Yeah he did....the tackle was sickning to say the least & anyone in the same situation would have had the same consequences....should be back hopefully before mid year.

Great young player.

Yeah, Richards injury was sustained in a incident similar. He seemed to get his foot caught between a bunnies player and the turf and was pulled down away from the way his leg was going. Some call him injury prone but that was plain rotten luck.

I think Graham will struggle to get back in the first grade side. Burt is doing pretty well at the back now.
