They don’t give a breakdown of city audiences on the ptv/streaming platforms so how the frick would you know? Easy to work out, how? Oh I guess you could just make it up like you normally do.

haha so now their comparable, even though in just a handful of recent games I could be bothered to look at to prove the point some of them are 30% plus more! You’re an idiot.

Sydney makes up about 50% of the FTA audience & so it makes sense this market has the same percentage of other platforms
1 million veiwers total , 500K from Sydney

comparable with the numbers from Melb watching the derps & misses & certainly not dragging the chain & a crisis like you claim
when will you get something right ? hahaha

And you won't. This strategy is not designed to create a massive increase in crowd averages. It is solely designed to fill well designed rectangular RL friendly small to mid level sized stadiums with near capacity crowds so as the game day experience and TV watching public enjoyable a much more atmospheric and exciting product like the TV execs have been requesting and wanting for a while now. Remember who pays the bills.

I agree with this tactic for the time being anyway. We need to change things up and presenting a better product at the ground and on the tele with the added bonus of tickets maybe being harder to come by and therefore a luxury item can only be a good first step in moving the needle just a little and shifting the mindset of the average punter. We need to present the product in near full stadiums(get rid of that ugly hill mentality and visual) and give it a look that is cool and exciting, otherwise we will only be attracting the same people we have been attracting. We need to make it fresh, exciting and a buzz to be there. Also the added bonus of being in smaller or mid size shiny new stadiums is there isn't a nose bleed seat in the house. That alone is a great way to market the sh*t out of it.
Dolphin Oval looked great yesterday with a near capacity crowd. Maybe that's the right size for an NRL stadium.

If Moore Park is so hard to get to, how do the Swans draw 36K and big crowds for Test Cricket. Surely the problem is the only Easts play home games there. Get Souths and other clubs playing some home games there. Why can't they replicate the Swans crowds? Or are the inner/middle suburbs now the domain only of AFL and Cricket fans?
There's not enough rugby league fans in Sydney to support nine clubs with strong attendances. We don't even have enough casual fans to watch all nine Sydney clubs on TV, which is evident by the ratings. We've got four or five clubs across Sydney who draw well on TV and have decent attendances. The other half are just making up the numbers and preventing the big guns from growing.

Canada has over 35m people, yet there's just nine clubs in the Canadian Football League. Those nine clubs are spread out all over the country. The attendance average for the CFL is over 30k.

well lets make em all 5000 capacity & never have anything but sellouts
Dolphin Oval can fit 11.5k supporters, which is probably too small. With the average across the league being 15k then it would be good to have the stadia fit 15k to 25k. Make it hard to get a ticket so that their value increases and people demand an increase in stadium size. People will attend games in larger numbers if they see value and status in going to the football.

Haha yeh if you have no ambition, don’t want to make much. money and want to be as big as the Aleague then a 12kstadium is perfect!
What's the point of playing in a 30k seat stadium that draws an average of 12k to 15k fans?

It's a black eye on the game to have empty seats outnumber attendees. People want to attend events that are in demand.

Maybe the Sydney clubs should just beautify Campbelltown, Leichhardt, Brookvale, Kogarah, Wollongong Stadium, Endeavour and Penrith to fit 20k people. No more terraces for bumpkins. A nice little grandstand on both sidelines and dead ball lines with a fancy tuckshop full of Aussie grown beef, pork, chicken cane toad legs, pies, sausage rolls, damper and Kirks softdrink. Lamingtons and scones with Aussie cream and strawberry jam. Promote it as the best place for a tourist to enjoy Aussie tucker while watching the locals play real football. They could even run a cockroach race at half time during the Sydney games. That'll get the crowds.

Sharks Stadium in line for windfall

The NSW State Government is close to finalising its strategy regarding the NRL’s suburban grounds investment.

While Penrith has been confirmed and Manly tipped to get another cash injection for Brookvale Oval, momentum is gathering for Cronulla’s privately-owned stadium to get a significant makeover.
Funds were originally put aside for a major renovation at Jubilee Oval. The Sharks can thank the Dragons, who showed little interest in playing more than half of their games at Kogarah each year given their ties to the South Coast.

The point is opportunity to realise potential. Just because clubs at the moment dont have the ability to market themselves and the nrl doesnt give two flying ones about crowds doesnt mean that won’t or can’t change In the future.
Build small stadiums and you’re guaranteeing small crowds.

Sydney teams have been playing at Stadium Australia for 23 years. At one stage it had a capacity of 100k. It still has about 80k seats. Crowds haven't improved.

It will stay that way while it keeps being an all purpose ground. Terrible views in most seats
SFS has been a good ground but its crowds aren't any better.

Parramatta Stadium is world class but its attendances are small.

I think there's just not enough people willing to attend games. They make excuses to not go because they find the hassle of getting to and from games outweighs the benefit of seeing the action from the stands. In my case, health issues and pets make it extremely stressful and burdensome to attend games.

And why I'm starting to see why Redcliffe capped their ground at 11,500. They'll save money on not needing to maintain as many seats, rails, bolts, nuts, concrete, steps, toilets, pipes, electrical cables and paint. They can increase the price of admission to the point that 11,500 paying attendees is more profitable than 15k attendees who pay less or are given free tickets.

A--League tried to be like the NRL by playing at big grounds and lost a lot of money drawing small crowds that didn't cover the exorbitant stadium rental fees. There's no point playing at big grounds year in and out if they're drawing small crowds that don't cover rental fees. You can give away tickets and promote each game on billboards across the city until the cows come home, but if people don't want to go then they won't.

Take Redcliffe. Hosting games mean more people come back to the club after the game.

Unless you know for certain it will be worth it then better off staying
