If they want major events right out west though?

That was the reason for a Stadium out there somewhere
You need multiple tenants though if you are going to have a stadium as good as Allianz or even Commbank. They should be the goal for a stadium when you have the airport and the growth in population out that way

Other sides will just pick the pieces out of that area but at the cost of $75m, They aren't going to move the CoE

Well they are ridiculously stupid then. In any case who cares about a COE. If I were the Dogs I’d be going that way.

Depends on how many other things it is used for though. If it has great meeting rooms maybe you can do corporate even, So the 1st question is what do you want the cultural centre to be like out there. If you can add it as part of a Stadium then it is done or you just build an awesome entertainment centre which likely ends up the same cost

Dogs have a central fanbase, No need to leave Accor/CommBank

Don’t they have land in Liverpool? Clubs always need to expand their supporter base and if the Tigers are too stupid to do anything about it then the Bulldogs should reap the benefits

Well considering they’ve already announced it no need.

Announced what? That they reneged or postponed their future funding? The major stadiums have multiple tenants and that is what governments spend money on. They aren’t going to spend money on nine individual suburban grounds and if the alternative to the SFS or similar is something like Leichhardt Oval I don’t blame them.

What major events would there be? Let’s face it, a hypothetical 25,000 stadium in Penrith is not going to lure major events (international music concerts etc) if there are bigger stadiums in the city.

There could be a chance of somebody to start an event out there

That means there will never be another stadium built in NSW as you can’t get commitments on events without a venue, but you can’t get a venue without commitments on events.
I bet that there was no business case meeting those bs measures for either Parramatta or Allianz.
The only infrastructure spend in Penrith is upgraded roads for the new airport, and the upgrading of Nepean Hospital.
No new light rail systems, no government bus system, like around Commbank and Allianz, but we still have to pay tolls on the M2, M7, M5, unlike those in the East.
It is starting to look like Postcode discrimination.

Have either the Tigers or Bulldogs reached out to Macarthur FC to see if some kinda joint-tenancy understanding can be drawn-up?

That way, both clubs could approach the NSW Government & say "Hey, if you build a stadium HERE then between the two of us, we can guarantee year-round top-flight sport tenancy".

Wouldn't that be the kind of return-on-investment the NSW Government are looking for?

The government is not going to pay for nine stadiums. Forget it, as it’s not going to happen; hence you have to share stadiums.

Now certain fans can whinge about it as much as they want but you have to deal with the reality of the situation

They only going to put stadiums where they get votes. This government will be voted out tho

This is becoming quite the meltdown.

The entitled but undeserved Eastern Suburbs mob can deny all they want but it was Alan Jones and the SCG mafia who got the overextravagant stadium and are now leading the charge to protect their new turf And prevent anyone else getting a new stadium!

They are building a train line servicing the airport and surrounding areas. That’s not cheap.

I do agree that Sydney west of Parramatta haven’t had much investment. Hopefully the airport will change that
