Bulls.. Those numbers utter rubbish
They've averaged more in Perth than they did at Belmore lol.
1980-85 was the Dogs most successful period and they avg'd 9.2k at Belmore. Suburban grounds are a nostalgic myth.

last 3 years at Belmore they avg'd 8.2k, first 3 years at Accor 14.7k. Yeh moving to a new stadium was such a bad idea lol.

See, your assumption that anyone who doesn't think we should be playing at shitty suburban grounds is an "out of towner" makes you look like a moron. I live less than 5kms from Accor, and have lived in and around Sydney my whole life.

Last supposed "sydneysider" said concord oval was an hour from burwood station. All surveys show fans think accor is the shits & prefer local grounds.

Accor includes double headers, easter games & finals. Numbers there are absolute bullshit too.

Take finals, free easter games out og accor. Regular matches would be lower than suburban. None of those suburban grounds have had any money spent on them but still basically doing same number.

hahaha but but but....
The stats don't lie and people prefer modern stadiums to suburban slums.

Imagine having to cherry pick numbers to try to prove point. Meanwhile, tigers playing before 4k at weekend. Only thing new stadium got are different color seats to look less empty. Might need actual blow up dolls on future..

Why would you take those games out? They are big games with big crowds that suburban grounds can't accommodate.

Why should 2-3k of the fans who turned up to Accor on Queens Birthday be locked out?

Genius. Afl crowds actually gone down in recent times. Ppl still wanting those modern stadiums?! Did better before hahaha

Before when? Before they moved from suburban grounds? Have a look at the link below. They give you a average crowd figure from 1921-2022 as well as an average from 1997 (which is the time when Docklands began and their strategy of centralised stadia began in Melbourne)

Take note of the average crowd figures overall and that post 1997 of all Melbourne sides. All of those sides, bar none, crowd averages post 1997 are more than the overall average from 1921-2022, some by 5k, others by up to and more than 15k (Collingwood for example) Obviously I would have to do further maths but bear in mind that the crowd averages over 100 years would be lower pre 1997; thus the difference would be even greater pre 1997 to post 1997. Probably looking at increases at around 30 -40% really.

But yeah centralised stadia hasn’t worked for Melbourne clubs. I thought maybe you were just a conservative but now I’m starting to think you’re a troll if you are going to blatantly ignore such statistics.

avg 4k fans a game across 6 venues isnt the same number lol Its basically 24k x 10 games or 240k MORE fans attending in a season at those venues! or around $12million ticket revenue extra at those 6 stadiums compared to the suburban slums.

The 2022 season Accor numbers dont include finals as we havent played any yet!

Wtf?! Belmore & Leichhardt have higher average. Now you counting total lol. Like I said cheap upgrade of suburban grounds will boost crowds.
