Atleast those beers were full strength (how good is Philter XPA).

It was costing $30 a round at a Hemmes venue for three beers in 2018 so about the same.

My trip to Commbank to watch reserve grade Penrith beat the Tigers was $60 for the ticket and $10 per shitty mid strength beer. The fried chicken burger was pretty decent though.

Here is the bigger problem rather than where stadiums are. That’s just not good value for money

One area that impressed me at optus when there for origin was the stadium has a big outdoor concourse on level 1 with a stunning view across the river to the city and there was a number of street food trucks set up on it. Just gave a lot more choice and decent quality.

toilets is unforgivable, rain as said EVERY stadium in australia has that issue, food ques not unusual and staffing is a massive problem everywhere at moment, food warmth unacceptable the joy of having kids with no experience making your dinner.

looked great on tv though and what a top tier sport should look like. 40k in a modern stadium. Shame it’s not the norm.

Food trucks outside the stadium are a great idea. Happened when I went to the MCG. Got a hot dog with sauerkraut and it was pretty good

Never understood people who buy loads of drinks at the game. at $12 a pop for a small plastic of mid strength you must have more money than sense! Only stadium I’ve drank seriously at was Suncorp who had proper bundy in optics at the bar!

This was actually part of the stadium, so even though it was on outside of stadium to make most of the view it was actually part of when you were inside, smart design.

Lol your meltdown continues.

41k tonight, 35k tomorrow. 35k plus 2 days in a row for Bruno Mars, 35k next week for finals week 1, 30k for whatever week sharks host a finals game there, 35k for Sydney fc in October, 30k 2 days running for rugby 7s in february.... such a white elephant.
They could have got those crowds for half the price.

To me, most of this seems like lack of staffing issue. (Cleaners, Cooks, Servers etc)

Unfortunately post pandemic this is an issue affecting all of Australia.
More likely a budget issue for the contractor.

That’s true. I still think one of the biggest things is pricing.

Just to confirm my suspicions I went to the fumbleball site to see what the ticket prices were

Tickets were $23 to $28. This is for a final as well. That’s good value (if you actually liked the game of course)

My reserved seat season ticket (student) was $90 in 2007 at Penrith stadium.

Those were the days.

Not really though, we got the spoon that year.

Interesting why ticket prices are going up so much. Obviously some greed is coming into it but in a lot of cases they are shooting them selves in the foot. If tickets were around $20-25 a pop then the crowd numbers would go up.

IF it’s due to rent price it’s a bit stupid of the smc as bigger crowds equals more food and drink sales and easier ground sponsorship sells.
nrl should have a flat rate $40 best seat $20 behind sticks ga, $5 for kids anywhere. We’re finally getting the stadiums to promote growth, now let’s fill the bloody things!

They would be kids tickets. Cheapest adult tickets for Week 1 AFL finals are $35 for standing/restricted view/back rows. But yes, the AFL prices finals to sell out rather than price gouge. It works (three x sellouts + 80K at 4th game) and in the long run sold out stadiums increases demand (FOMO), increases revenue and looks terrific on TV like last night @ SFS.

NRL has the GF pricing right. Tickets from $55.

Never understood how they think the roof drip line reaching the front row is adequate. It’s like they don’t know wind exists.
I had a good night last night but the line ups were terrible which I thought would be the case so I ate before I got there. I hope it’s nothing more than teething issues. Two beers and two can of soft drinks were $32 btw. Stadia have a licence to gouge like a hotel mini bar, it seems.

The roof is definitely an improvement on the last one but yes some seats will still get wet.

I'm with you, dint eat at the ground and haven't for many years. I had a really good time and the stadium looked awesome.

All in all definitely some teething issues here and 41k obviously won't be the typical crowd at the joint. On the toilet issue that Apollo had, it's unfortunate but sometimes people put stuff down there they shouldn't. The toilets I used immediately after the game were fine with little wait time.

I was impressed with the light rail situation, I stayed until 5 minutes after the buzzer and was on a tram 10 minutes later.

I walked out late as well thinking we’d avoid the light rail crush but to no avail. My theory on the dunnies was Souths fans attempt at sabotage after the sooky week about it not being their stadium lol

I think if you have to eat or shit at a stadium you have just messed up or you planned for it an only have yourself to blame. I had a shit at a stadium once and I still have nightmares about that experience.
Is it a steep stadium? the pitch of the stadium? If they f**ked that up it is unforgiveable. Pretty much every seat in Parra Stadium is magnificent.

Every now and then you talk some sense.

I was in what one could only describe as the cheap seats in the corner a few rows from the front and i still felt I could see everything and I never found myself looking at the screen to watch the game.

"Some seats"?! Sorry but where were you sitting? I was in Bay 15 and everyone from my row up to the back of the bay got wet in the rain. 30 meter line, Paddington ewnd, westermn side of the ground. As such I'd suggest most of the bowl seats would get wet, and it would be bad in anything other than the light showers we had last night.

This is a photo I took from my seat during one of the light showers last evening during the NRLW game -
