I have explained the dogs sponsor having a pub just outside Accor.

What is better for him? People eating at the locker room or eating in some random Pub in Parramatta?
Maybe dogs playing in front of 25k at commbank get a national company sponsor, not some local pub?
Sponsors arent sponsoring clubs, be it main jersey or smaller player sponsors to advertise just tot he 10k attending in their community lol. It’s a national game on tv with a million watching.

They are sponsoring because they are usually a fan, to get at a tax break, a nice box at the game to get drunk at and for advertising on tv. A nicer box at commbank would surely be more enticing than the esky of tinnies and pie and sausage roll platter at LO?

Pretty sure dogs sponsor isnt paying $1mill plus for the main shirt sponsor to entice a couple of hundred extra people to buy lunch in his Accor pub ten times a year lol.

A national company is Parra is sponsoring the Eels or the Wanderers.

The relevant local government that paid for the CoE wants games locally though, Games in another area doesn't help.

Accor is closer to the Dogs area
The club gets a good stadium deal
Plenty of dry seats
The Pub outside is a handy addition

Does anyone here have a list of what councils (owners) charge for use of grounds for each NRL team?
I'm not trying to create controversy, I honestly would like to know what each team pays to have their games at every ground (stadium).
Does any team actually get paid to play their games at certain stadiums etc? Souths used to get paid to play at Homebush, didn't they?

I didn’t say profit, I said revenue. Last pre covid year they earnt $16.9mill from game day sales plus $1.6mill merch sales. same year they got $13.5mill grant from nrl.
If you can get REALLY popular like afl clubs you can triple that! 2019 WC Eagles earnt $40.5mill from game day activity and $6mill in merch sales. NRL clubs aren’t even scratching the surface yet of what they could earn.
Ok so revenue is pretty irrelevant... What was their game day profit/loss after expenses?

They used to, Now it is hiring fee.
Just to be clear here, does that mean that every team that plays at a Venues NSW stadium does not get any profit whatsoever from the crowd figures, but does get paid a certain amount per season to play at the ground?
Do you know what these teams are paid to play at these venues?
Who is it, Souths, Easts, Parra, Dogs... a bit of the Tigers?

Correct they get the memberships and a fixed rate. The actual crowd money goes to VenuesNSW, finals is different as it is for individual events

I find that very hard to believe. Normally a club pays a hire fee for the venue plus corporate catering costs and then keeps all gate takings and corporate sales. Stadium keeps food and drink revenue, though some clubs do get a % share of this. Eels have A revenue line that is memberships and gate takings So they are most certainly keeping the money
Where have you got it from that venues nsw keep gate takings?

From a few years ago, This was the Tigers deal at Accor.

From what little research I just did it would not appear any info is published online.

In relation to Accor Stadium, I found this 8 year old article from the SMH about its hiring costs - https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/ho...pays-off-for-sydney-clubs-20140426-zr05p.html

Inner West Council just has an online form to submit if you want to hire Leichhardt Oval, but not costs are mentioned anywhere. I dare say once you indicate what you want to use they then indicate what the cost will be - https://www.innerwest.nsw.gov.au/ex...dt-oval/leichhardt-oval-hire-application-form

Like the article says Parra get paid a fixed rate to play in Darwin
Panthers same in Bathurst
I presume all teams are the same, If you sell a game the organisation paying that money keeps ticket money to cover the costs

Every team has jersey number sponsors, Smaller corporates most are local businesses. Why the hell would Joe's plumbing based at Campbelltown be after business in Parramatta?

So what benefit is it for sponsors like that to be at Parra in the space as several other businesses?
Clubs playing in a national competition should have national companies lining up to sponsor them. The fact that Sydney's clubs struggle to do this is proof there's no demand from the market to have nine small clubs cannibalising each other. Teams need to represent large chunks of land with a sizeable population to attract high end sponsors.

Jersey sponsors yes and are but Teams have 50-100 sponsors. They are local Real Estates, Tradies etc they support the local teams not teams 40km away
