The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

It is more a current stadium than future, but what is the intent behind having Gold Coast's stadium at Robina? Having visited recently, it seems to be in the middle of nowhere.

it is far away from any of the tourist areas like beach strip or theme parks. Seems to be out in Suburbia. There is a train station nearby but the train seems to service Brisbane more than the Gold Coast.

Will the light rail ever go there? From my short visit, I'd say the location makes it hard for the Titans to tap into the GC market. Id post in the GC forum but it is pretty quiet there.

Dont know the region very well having only visited surfers briefly. Does GC have a main population centre? Seems to be a pretty spread out cluster of suburbs along the coastline from what I can see. Where would be more accessible/central? I'm guessing most people drive?

So,let’s recap

we started at $800mill to finally turn Accor into what it should be
then we went to $600mill for 2 new stadiums and some other stadiums upgrades
to then $300-400mill for one new state of art stadium
to now potentially $x amount to tart up three suburban dumps

and this is somehow a win for the game? Lol

Peter V'landys is sooooo influential

I would like to see the Jane Try stand at Manly knocked down and re-built into a modern stand with greater capacity.
Manly needs both stands knocking down, the hill flattening and something fit for the 21st century building! Shame the council didnt go for this idea. A self funding project that would have delivered what they need

Robina is a large development area and I think its reasonably accessible for locals and people coming down from Brisbane - also people coming up from NSW. It's probably not in a great spot for tourists as its a 10-15min drive from the strip... Metricon (suns) stadium is similar, its in the burbs away from the beach.

GC is very spread out, it's not centralised at all. All the skyscrapers are around Surfers Paradise down to Broadbeach and also Southport but this isn't where people live who are going to NRL games....

Went to A league on weekend. Wasn’t impressive. Toilet lines were awful. Lack of available food (literally waiting for chips, I mean common people are gonna order chips ffs) and mid bay sideline still got wet.

Might as well have been at shark park not a brand new stadium.

So the roof doesn’t cover all the seats

literally the biggest complaint of the old stadium

Whats it say? Paywall. Very stupid of the SMC to put up signs as if the place belongs to one club thats just renting it. Its NSW tax payer owned.
