Quayle has a winery in the hunterwe got crumbs 20 years ago and we were thankful. It’s a bit embarrassing as a stadium now still half finished with tiny second hand scoreboards that don’t work. The fun of being regional.
wonder if anyone on the Venues NSW board is from outside of Sydney..
edit - looks like a token member from Illawarra. None from Newcastle, imagine my surprise.
NSW certainly doesnt back its regional stadiums like Qlnd does. Newcastle and Wollongong are both overdue some money spending on them.we got crumbs 20 years ago and we were thankful. It means he’s a friendly voice on the board for Newcastle lolThat doesn't mean he is from the Hunter, it means he visits here.

Newcastle got 50 million when everyone else got zeroexcept we have been given nothing so he isn’t a very effective one
our masterplan for the stadium precinct is unfunded, our COE was done on the cheap, our stadium is unfinished, we don’t even have working scoreboards.
access to the stadium from the north is literally balancing on a wooden plank to get across a path that floods when it sprinkles. It’s comical.
Newcastle got 50 million when everyone else got zero
blame vlandys anyway he should’ve included Wollongong and Newcastle in the stadium cash grab
The way you talk it’s as if Newcastle is a dumpand now everyone gets hundreds of millions to knock down stadiums better than Newcastle’s.
and PVL doesn’t give a crap about us either.
The way you talk it’s as if Newcastle is a dump
the ground is still very good
I’m surprised there wasn’t more uproar about only four or five Sydney clubs benefitting from the sale of the grand final
to be fair Canberra is the biggest loser
So because some guy made fun of it all of a sudden it’s poorliterally just had someone bagging it out above.
the ground needs some money spent on it.
and the bigger point is it is meant to be part of a masterplan for the hunter sports precinct… which was proposed 5 years ago but hasn’t got any funding to actually make it happen.

yet apparently knocking down better stadiums in Sydney to build new ones is much higher on the agenda.
Northern NSW should be our own state.

Arlc should do more for Canberra (new stadium)Well to be fair and to somewhat back up Wb1234’s point, regions like Canberra, Newcastle and Wollongong are less likely to get funding when compared to big cities like Sydney or Melbourne. Whilst I would like a funding upgrade for Hunter Stadium in reality Canberra should be get funding first (I don’t even think I am being that biased as a Canberra supporter in saying that)
