Agreed. Something like the Parra Stadium plan.
The rest of the money should be spent on ANZ with the goal that it drops jaws enough that Man U, Barcelona, Dallas Cowboys, FIFA world cup powers that be etc start thinking they want to bring a game down here.

Correct and these international 'brands' which are guaranteed to fill the stadium seem to have been overlooked in the debate. There hasn't been an NFL game in Sydney since the Broncos and Chargers in 1999. Given the travel factors involved only a world-class stadium will attract them back.

I think I took that article and posted it to r/nrl. It talks about the stadiums bringing in money etc. Happy there is some exposure for the pro side. Also now that I think about it I'm sure I read that article you linked before. No idea why I forgot it.

College football in Sydney is not worth doing unless they bring USC or Notre Dame, a Big 10 school or maybe Texas Longhorns. Those schools would bring tens of thousands out.
