I meant over Leichhardt.Watched some of the affiliated states comp from there the other week. Stadium looked like an amateur clubs ground. Would need a motza spending on it

That's is happening, the club is starting to make some real progress off the field. I think the decision to take the game to New Zealand was a mistake but find it hard to fault most of their decisions in the last 12 months. I'm hoping the club makes a decision to base itself out of the new Western Sydney Stadium with one game at Leichhardt and Campbelltown but that will depend on what happens to the 10 year contract they have with ANZ.
They also need to be careful about pushing their numbers too early as they do not want to get former Balmain supporters offside.

That is the only real option for the future for us. If we remain at either/both of the suburban grounds for more than half of our games we will consign ourself to always being the poorest club in the comp. At least in a new stadium it would give a chance to grow.
They need to start making decisions on where they see the club in 10-20 years. If that is playing out of dilapidated old grounds then we are in big trouble. To me they should abandon Leichhardt & Campbelltown. I’d still use Leichhardt for one or two games
Who knowsOn shark park, surely that northern end is no hope of being developed into a stand of any signifigance with those power lines hanging above it?

I mean you could probably get away with one game in Campbelltown and one in Leichhardt but you need a clear single home ground.
I just don’t think the people of Campbelltown are ever going to properly embrace the team unless they at least base their HQ there.
An Aleague licence for Campbelltown could also help them get upgrades to the stadium.

Manly are investigating whether the ground at Brookvale is so poor that it's causing knee injuries, even asking for injury data from previous years for other clubs to determine if it's untenable.

Boyd did his medial ligament that game too.Dunamus Lui for us did his knee there last year.
The problem with Campbelltown is the club is 100% owned by clubs in the inner west. Wests Campbelltown has no stake in the club, with the club being owned 75% by Wests Ashfield and 25% Balmain.
Interesting.
If they’re not prepared to commit to it, they should abandon it.
Make western Sydney stadium their new home and play a game at leichardt, at least then the direction will be clear.
The brand is ubiquitous anyway, “Wests” can respresent a whole bunch of people. Plus the tigers monicker is popular amongst kids.
And the panthers can take over the Campbelltown region![]()

From my own experience, the major problem with the Campbelltown region is similar to the problem facing any team looking to be based on the Central Coast: there are a huge number of RL fans there, but they already support other clubs. They've moved-in from other regions and have brought their club loyalties with them.
The inter-generational, rusted-on supporters of the club are mainly in the Inner West and it's also closer to the big end of town where all the corporate $$$ are.
