The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

From my own experience, the major problem with the Campbelltown region is similar to the problem facing any team looking to be based on the Central Coast: there are a huge number of RL fans there, but they already support other clubs. They've moved-in from other regions and have brought their club loyalties with them.
The inter-generational, rusted-on supporters of the club are mainly in the Inner West and it's also closer to the big end of town where all the corporate $$$ are.

Very similar to how Penrith was for a long time, there’s still other fans out there but only in more recent times has it become clearly panthers territory.

Manly are very welcome to move here if they call themselves Central Coast, change colours, change emblem, sack every current player and don't sign any former scum players ever...... and have DCE shot into the sun

For Campbelltown to embrace a team, they need a full time team playing out of the area. In a stadium that isn't shit..

There's no amount of money you could spend on Campbelltown to bring it into the top echelon - it's just a suburban sportsground that's been added to in bits and pieces over time. It's a knock-down job.

The problem is, it's never going to happen with billions being spent on 'the big three' stadiums, it's never ever going to happen.

Wests need to pick an identity and stick to it. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I don't know if that's Campbelltown because of all of the transplants from elsewhere, and it's hard to see a future where their actual fanbase of rusted-ons is. It's a hard question.

If the south west Aleague bid got up it could happen. Would probably need a mix of federal and state funds though.

Probably nothing like Parramatta, but a 20-25k stadium.

Wests Tigers should definitely consider moving to WSS full-time with only one-offs at Leichhardt and Campbelltown. Modern stadium with reasonable capacity and great corporate capability for 10 matches out of their 12 is just good business. It's also in the area they should look at exploiting for future decades. It's also not too hard for their inner-west supporters to get to.

The thing they've got over every other club in the NRL is the Tiger brand. Doesn't matter how shit they are on the park, they'll pull kids in. Add a great venue in the Western Sydney CBD with great entertainment options and transport links, and they could potentially become THE metropolitan powerhouse club in 10-20 years if they have some good years on the park.

Looks like a Blacktown rip-off.

Only professional sports team that could conceivably be based out of there would be a Big Bash side - and Brisbane2 is waaaaaay down on the list of priorities for CA.

With the new stadium being know as Western Sydney Stadium (until a sponsor comes on board) and the Western Sydney Wanderers playing out of it. Would it be a wise long-term move for the tigers to move there and change there name to Western Sydney Tigers? Wests is a bit too ambiguous and Western Suburbs is not a team name appropriate for a national comp.

They could base themselves at Campbeltown and play at WSS. This could possibly help with their identity issues.

I’ve read the Brisbane AFLW team will play there. Probably got the thing over the line.
it has to do with corruption which is standard AFL practice

The ABC reported that the Springfield Land Corporation – whose deputy chair Bob Sharpless is the Lions' chairman – then made a $10,000 donation to Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale as part of his re-election fund.
