How much money would Belmore need to be turned into a 30k decent Stadium?

Edit: and would it be worth while?

It's not a great train line for most other supporters to get to as well limited by the amount of housing around it now. As suggested previously, it would be best place if we were to have a new stadium out liverpool way.

Why couldn’t you build a stand up and over the train line and on game day encompass a station within said stand?

I’d be more worried about the other end with the houses tbh.

I suppose you could, but govt is pretty risk averse, pretty close to where the Granville train disaster happened.

Also they haven't had 1 non Maori\Islander junior ever come through their lower grades. How good can their junior development be going? I mean not one. For all the so called advancements down there nothing has changed as far as getting the kids to embrace it and play, which we all know is the only way to get the next generation of rusted on fans that will elevate the sport long term.

We will see a huge decline in the Storm attendances and brand as soon as they have a couple of years of non semi final football without Slater and Smith. Of that you can be assured. The kids is where any sport is measured by, and they just don't have them. Fair weather fans are available to all codes. The trick is to get the hearts and minds of the kiddies and the women.

That doesn't look like it has happened at all.

I know he is English born, but I'm pretty sure Gareth Widdop came through the Victorian local league and through the Storm juniors

You just know he is going to say he wasn’t born in vic lol. If storm pick them Up at under 18 and develop them then they are a storm produced player in reality.
If not we claim kalyn Ponga as he was born in WA :)

True! Gareth played for the Altona Roosters from memory. Although born in the U.K. you really can't get a better example of a world class player developed in Victoria.

That’s not going to happen for the simple fact that Souths don’t want to play in the east at Moore Park. Their own research has told them that the majority of their fans live *west* of Homebush. From the point of view of distance, public transport and parking it’d be a much worse situation than what they have today even with no change.

Most of their fans might live west of Homebush but the area with the highest concentration of Souths fans remains clearly south-east of the CBD from Redfern to La Perouse.

Most teams probably have more fans outside their local suburbs than within. It's an odd justification.

I don't care where on Earth I lived, i'd want my team to play out of their actual home.

Completely bare bones $200m

Similar to Parra $350m

Can’t see how it could happen.

Would also be a weird looking stadium because nothing is possible on the train line end.

Dogs are honestly better off biting the bullet and playing out of western Sydney stadium.

Even fantasising about more modern stadiums in Sydney seems to me a waste of time.

Kogarah, Penrith, Cronulla, Campbeltown might get incremental upgrades to keep up with minimum requirements.
The rest will decline as professional venues. Leichhardt and Belmore are all but done and Brookvale will be the next to fall.

As for home game allocations I'd like to see

WSS: Eels, Tigers(6)
Olympic: Bulldogs
SFS: Roosters, Souths, Dragons (1)

Kogarah: Dragons (5)
Penrith: Panthers
Cronulla: Sharks
Campbeltown: Tigers(6)
Brookvale: Manly(2)

Wollongong: Dragons (6)
Gosford: Manly(10)

I’d like to see the tigers go all in on WSS. I see no point continuing with Campbelltown and Leichhardt is only good enough for a single game.

Dragons I think should mostly move to Wollongong. 8/3/1

Manly should also bite the bullet on change.

Penrith is lucky it’s in a swing seat both state & federally, should be enough to keep them local.

I mostly agree. Campbeltown is the only sticking point. The Macarthur region deserves attention and representation. It's a solid 45 mins from Parra (or Homebush) on a good day and transport links are currently poor. There's no easy answer for Wests.
Penrith is the best suburban ground by some distance and Kogarah and Shark Park do the job

I just think with Campbelltown you either need to be all in or you’re wasting time. To me they’ll never embrace the team with only a few matches, maybe if they were still the magpies but they’re essentially being asked to embrace another identity with just scraps thrown at them.

Be similar to expecting the centra coast to embrace Manly whilst still being based on the northern beaches.

As a Tigers Fan and Penrith resident I agree 100%. WSS is the perfect solution for the Tigers with 1 game at Campbelltown and 1 at Leichhardt.

Penrith has a great little ground to watch football.

Campbelltown never embraced the Magpies either

There’s no easy answer for the tigers which is why we currently have it right. 3/4 games at Leichhardt and cambo and our big Sydney games at anz with opposition members having reciprocal rights.

WSS makes no sense for the Tigers.

Campbelltown to Parramatta - 50km

By contrast everyone agrees Allianz won’t work for Manly.

Brookvale to Moore Park - 19km

But it’s basically the same as Campbelltown to ANZ? In fact if you go by the quickest route on the M7 it’s closer than ANZ.

If Campbelltown was their main base I’d agree, but it’s basically their least important of their 3 bases.

"Actual" home is such a bogus concept. Where exactly do you draw the line?

Shouldnt Souths be heading back to their ACTUAL home in Redfern? And WTs can go back to their ACTUAL homes in Wentworth Park and Birchgrove.

Maybe the Broncos should go back to their ACTUAL home at QE2. Is that place even still standing?
