True though...

I think they should aim for 22k, because then a sell out will sometimes only draw 20,21k. 20k capacity will always be in the 19,000s. Boring ha

Nrl should introduce a min 25k capacity criteria, with a min 75% seating undercover. Clubs are never going to get rich if they don’t generate a stronger supporter base. Set a 5 yeartimeline for clubs to comply.

This isn't an NRL initiative. If it goes ahead, the NRL can take it or leave it, or just hire it when required.
It's not as if they use the ground much these days anyway, nor do the Tiges ever fill it.
As I said earlier, this is the perfect ground size for Campbelltown games against teams like the Cowboys.

Actually, I think 18000 is perfect, not only for the A-League franchise, but also the Tigers. The Tigers can play their lesser games there and take their bigger games to WSS.
Also, the financial backer of the A-League franchise bid is property developer Lang Walker - not short of a quid.
The NRL could do worse than to lobby local and state and Fed govt's to get behind this proposal. It'd be a win for both rectangular sports.
I thought Soccer didn’t like sharing grounds? Maybe they should build it themselves and then no one else can use it.

State government won’t touch it.

Seems as there is multiple investors.

Anyway, the more I read the article, the more of a load of shite I think it is.
I mean, who's going to pay for corporate boxes for a stadium that not only hasn't been built yet, but hasn't even been designed or had approval for, for a team that doesn't even exist yet?

I’m just very doubtful about the project, to me it looks like PR to get their bid up.

But I hope I’m wrong, more rectangular grounds is only a good thing.

Just read an article advising that Penrith will play their finals games for 2019 at WSS if they qualify. I think a majority of fans will be happy at this as no more trips to Moore Park during September. St George, manly and Cronulla will also play their finals games at the SCG if they qualify too.

Jesus you’re an idiot. Where is the money coming from? And why do this when the crowd average is not even 20K. Stupidest post of the year.

If they had a home final, they didn't have to go to Moore Park. Penrith home finals were at Homebush.

Talking of stupid! The crowds arent hitting 20k as the clubs are playing in sht stadiums that the fans dont want to go to! When soccer and RL introduced min stadium critieria in the UK lo and behold things developed and funds were found to develop the stadiums to meet min criteria. Dont set a bar and you can be damn sure no one is going to jump.

That would explain why clubs playing out of all-seater stadiums averaged 30,000+ this season! The Roosters! The Rabbits! The Eels! The Bulldogs! Huge averages! All of them!

What you know about this league could be written on the back of a stamp.
