Because these are all FALSE. Any of these shortcomings (if they really even exist at all) can be addressed at a fraction of the cost.
To make that assertion, you must know the cost of addressing those items within the confines of the existing stadium design. For the edification of the rest of us, what is it?
I'd be all for BankWest being Sydney Sports' Marvel Stadium if the transportation in this state wasn't complete trash.
Speaking as a Penrith fan so probably will be viewed as biased, but the sight of 8-10k Panthers fans leaving half time despite us being in front by two because they had no cover from the horrid weather and seeing them essentially form a mosh pit at one of the three narrow entrances to get out was horrible. It genuinely looked so unsafe. Our average crowd has climbed 5k in just a few years and it's only going to keep climbing. Just really disappointed that situation could happen again unless we go forty minutes to a newer stadium when Parra couldn't move ten.
Oh well.
The soccer club? Won't last a decade.Parra has two tenants you numbnut
a bit blunt but you're hovering around the pointSo you’re having a bitch because the state isn’t planning on building a stadium in Penrith, that’s the crux of your whinge isn’t it?
a bit blunt but you're hovering around the point
this is too much criticism though soz lets get this thread back to a jerk circle over pictures of seats pls
im confused, are you saying you live in penrithI just don’t see what there is to be critical about the city I live in having one stadium that’s not f**king shit.
My team won’t play there but I will go for every away game that they do.
I can hand on heart say I would rather travel to Penrith to watch Souths play than go to f**king ANZ it’s an utter hole.
Yeah, can't see the RBB tearing those seats out and using them as projectiles next time they're unhappy with a ref's decision .It could be read like that, but it was badly worded.
My understanding is that once approval is received which it states is a formality, the safe standing section will be installed.
It will be permanent and will accommodate both the Eels and Wanderers. When the Wanderers are playing, they fold the seats up and lock them into position. When the Eels are playing, they fold them down and lock them into position.
See the pics below.....
A video on the Safe Standing section at Celtic Park.
Plenty of English clubs wanting to get it aswell but need a change in legislation brought in after the Hillsborough Disaster for it to go ahead.
You might be surprised mate.
Smaller venue, steeper stands, perfect capacity. Modern facilities for both plebs and corporates.
I reckon if there is 25000 in WSS, and 25000 in Suncorp, you'll find that WSS does indeed shit all over Suncorp for a match day experience.
You might even find that the new Cowboys stadium is also better than Suncorp under the same circumstances.
So you really believe that the stadium should have been built in Penrith? I live in Penrith and that is just a silly statement! Bankwest (I miss the WSS name already) already has the Eels and Tigers guaranteeing to play games at the stadium with the Wanderers soon to commit and if they were smart both the Bulldogs and Penrith would look to move some games there. It will attract concert in Parramatta that would be unlikely to be held in Penrith. If this stadium was built in Penrith it would have the Panthers play games there and possibly a couple from the Tigers, but I doubt that. Surely even in your biased eyes you can see your argument just doesn't stack up?I'd be all for BankWest being Sydney Sports' Marvel Stadium if the transportation in this state wasn't complete trash.

yeah I get what you’re saying mate, but soccer aside, Suncorp doesn’t get many 25k crowds, most crowds are 30-35k plus. I’m not a suncorp ‘fan boi’ and it’s not without its flaws but it’s location in brisbane is probably overall better, proper train line is on also on it’s doorstep.
Corporate facilities being all on one side has its pros and cons. I’m sure there’s some pissed off long time members that have been sitting in good seats in the old parra western that are gonna feel pretty jaded when they were told they won’t have the same seats at the new joint and get moved somewhere completely different.
Parra is the one stadium in sydney that I hold dear to my heart. When i moved down as a teen from NQ in the early 90’s, my old man worked in parra and would drop me off sunday morning and I’d watch all 3 grades (sometimes more if harold mathews were playing as well) so this new stadium is f**king awesome and I will be down for a game at some stage to check it out and get nostalgic.
That is one thing I do not like about the new stadium, it panders a little too much to the elite for my liking, descent affordable seating on the western side should be a priority in all rectangular stadiums in my opinion.

As for your argument for ANZ and Bankwest being too close together they should be used for vastly different purposes.
Why was the Western side chosen for the corporates? It’s not really pandering, they have all the corporate stuff on one side to save money. Both in construction costs & ongoing costs.
The irony is the current legislation is currently making fans less safe.
Away fans for example simply do not sit and the stewards can’t throw out a few thousand fans.
The law really needs updating, sadly some family members from Hillsborough won’t have any of it and are putting pressure on governments and the FA against the changes.
