This whole post is garbage!
1. The Wanderers would not have taken games to Penrith, they played a grand total of zero in Penrith during the rebuild.
2. You claim that playing games at Parra is too far away from Penrith but also state that both the Bulldogs and Tigers would have played games in Penrith, not a chance mate.
3. Yes they should be used for vastly different purposes, ANZ should be used for SOO and Finals, Bankwest for club games. ANZ is too big for club games and should be an event stadium,
I live in Penrith and there is no justification for a stadium out here, if you had of argued for the Blacktown proposal I could have given you some credit but your posts reek of just wanting what is best for your club and stuff the realities of the situation.
You clearly didn't read my post.
1. Wanderers didn't take any games there because their fans thought they would have been better off at Spotless. Countless Wanderers fans have voiced their regret over it ever since they placed the FFA cup game during their rebuild in...Penrith.
2. Yes...Bulldogs and Tigers were considering taking games to wherever the new stadium was placed. Even Liverpool. They are nowhere near as gridlocked in a certain area as Penrith are. They, along with teams like Dragons, Souths and Parra have a big presence in the greater west. Penrith fans aren't as spread over.
3. So just the GF and an Origin game a year at ANZ? Who will play finals matches at ANZ? Do you honestly think Souths will choose to play at ANZ instead of BankWest regardless of their opponent? Their base has shifted to western Sydney and even if they were hosting the Roosters they'd be reluctant to play at ANZ. Teams don't get anything from tickets to finals matches as that goes entirely into the NRL's pocket, so there's no logical reason why they wouldn't lock as many Roosters fans out from going to the game as possible, just as Roosters did to Souths fans this year by playing at Allianz. Whether it's tens of thousands or just a few. They are very much going to be taking content of one another.
No, i said it should be in Penrith as it is one of the fastest growing places around. More and more infrastructure is being built there and what comes with that is more locally based jobs. Which brings more people to live out there and most importantly the vast majority of workers from Penrith that usually have to travel to the city to work is slowly decreasing. This is going to make it easier for Penrith people to come in larger numbers to games regardless of whether it's a Saturday night game or a 6pm Friday game.
Look at Penrith's crowd averages over the past several years. In 2015 we had a bog shit year with injuries but it still jumped from 2014 when we came 4th. Consistent finals finishes is a major reason for the upward trajectory but another major reason is that the area is improving and growing all the time. Like I said teams have a decent following out here and along with what I just said that's why I believed it would have worked.
Not 'bias'.
