Must have been a Wanderer's fan, where seats at venues are disposable.

I have no friends who are Wanderers fan lol, he is a passionate Roosters fan, just wish I would have had hindsight to take some of the seats from the old Turner stand at the Sports Ground when it was being demolished back in 1986. Looking forward to sitting in some of the old SFS seats when I go up to his place for BBQ later in January.

That would have been a bit hard, the seating in the Turner Stand was bench seating.

Not to mention the rent/lease that Govt. charge to hire these things, often $100k+ per event
It would take approximately 250 events per year paying $100k rent each just to pay the interest on the cost of the SFS rebuild. It is public money being flushed down the toilet, no two ways about it.

Bullshit.

And, why is public infrastructure "flushing money down the toilet"?

The costs would be recouped through other streams of revenue to the economy.

Public money is flushed down the toilet daily, why so this such an outrage?

I traveled to Perth for the double header last season. I spent four days there between Perth and Fremantle and spent probably around $1000 all up (possibly more) on accommodation, food and other touristy activities. That doesn't even factor in the cost of the ticket for the double header. Events and stadiums bring more money into the economy than just what they get from ticket sales.

I know most people understand this but I feel like it needs to be spelled out anyway.

Im going to Auckland for the lions game this year (if it actually happens) I’m sure the kiwi tax man will do very well from me.

Concerts.Tests for soccer and union, perhaps even gridiron.Influx of tourists intrastate, interstate and overseas.
Hotel accommodation, public transport, other sights.Extra employment needed .
Better chance of selling more events than a worn down, safety issues stadium we now have.
Ask the WA Govt about the advantages of securing major events, in their new stadium.
