But even in retrospect, 1300’s still shits on Brooky, Penrith, Leichhardt, Shark Park, Campbo...... it’s on par with Canberra and only Newy is better than it for the sub 40k crowd capacity.

1300 was the worst rugby league ground I’ve been to besides the old Olympic Park in Melbourne.

Zero cover, no facilities, rickety ass grandstands that looked like temporary stuff you’d knock up for a park footy final, and miles away from town to boot.

Brookie is probably on par for shitness, but Penrith, shark park, and campbo are far superior. Leichhardt gets a pass for being an historic ground that harkens back to the original days of league.

Canberra and Newcastle look like damned palaces compared to 1300.

Hell id watch league and damned Belmore over 1300

rickety stands??

that are built to withstand 200km/hr winds. You’ll find they’re probably more structurally sound than the new WSS due to the cyclone rating required to pass code.

Shark park has zero parking, something 1300’s has in spades. Same amount of roof (f**k all), 1300’s has a bigger capacity as well. it is comparing aids vs cancer though.......

Leichardt, gets no pass for mine. It’s a f**king dung heap. Next to zero parking, ordinary amenities, corporate areas below par. Antiquated change rooms (I’ve been in there).

History, sure Leichardt has it in spades, but have the Broncos ever lost a finals game there?? 1300’s has seen this 4 times and at the end of the day, we all know that is the most important fact when adjudicating a grounds importance......

Each to their own of course, but I'd rate the Willows higher then Leichardt, Campelltown and Brookie by some margin. I've been in crappers with more amenity then those grounds.

Im with you on Melbourne's old ground,,Local QRL sides have better venues then Olympic Park, what a shithole that was.

QE2 was the worst "home" venue I've been too I reckon, 50m+ from the action, in the middle of suburbia with aluminium seats on a slope that you could barely see above the person in front of you.

But nothing tops AFL Park in Cairns (Cazaly's) for worst venue to hold an NRL game, FMD you were miles from the action, no cover (it pissed rain both times games were held there), and piss poor sight lines.

For mine, Robina is the third best rectangular stadium in Australia (Lang Park and AAMI besting it), it just happens to be in a shitful location.

Im so interested to see what Labor would do with the half demolished stadiums...

Do the leave it and let it rot? Do the pay to have it put back together? Or do they just bight the bullet and negotiate a stadium upgrade of their own.

My hope (wishful thinking) is that they will take the opportunity to tell the Trust to f*ck off. The Central idea would be great, but really anything would be better than Moore Park...

If labor win, I reckon they’ll offer a small interest loan. This will probably scale back the stadium, to a more reasonable cost. Then when labor get the boot at the next election. The libs will make a deal to keep the grand final in Sydney and pay the loan themselves.
