It’s hard to tell if that’s a photo of the stadium after an a-league game or a photo of the demolition.another couple of pics of Allianz
I was hoping for an actual source here but I guess I'll have to take your word for it.Yes, but It’s ok because the afl are pitching in $5m...
It's interesting this is being amped up by the Tele as dramatic and something that could embarrass the (potentially) outgoing LNP government - looks like all they're doing so far is uninstalling seats and a bit of fencing? The screens went ages ago to create the new one at the SCG.another couple of pics of Allianz

Hardly irreversible stuff
Yep, Tuesday or Wednesday. By March (election time), they expect 25% of the roof to be gone.Doesn’t it all start ramping up after the test match against India is over?
Im so interested to see what Labor would do with the half demolished stadiums...
Do the leave it and let it rot? Do the pay to have it put back together? Or do they just bight the bullet and negotiate a stadium upgrade of their own.
My hope (wishful thinking) is that they will take the opportunity to tell the Trust to f*ck off. The Central idea would be great, but really anything would be better than Moore Park...
Why the f#@k does the AFL own a ground in Cairns and the NRL don't own one at all? We need to start looking at this kind of thing. The AFL own a number of grounds. The only close equivelant in RL is the Sharks and Redcliffe Dolphins but they are owned by those clubs, not the NRL.
then maybe you should read the article posted? there's even a handy link in it to a story about the funding going to the Swans.I was hoping for an actual source here but I guess I'll have to take your word for it.
Looks like it's a $65mil redev but the government is only kicking in $20mil - less than a third of the funding for it.then maybe you should read the article posted? there's even a handy link in it to a story about the funding going to the Swans.

What are they doing with the seats? Give them to Brookvale so they can throw out the wooden benchesanother couple of pics of Allianz
My understanding is that country venues will be receiving themWhat are they doing with the seats? Give them to Brookvale so they can throw out the wooden benches
Because the NRL has always been useless and the AFL has always been competent and business savvy.
Easy, next.

Thats what happens when a sporting culture decides that professionals are “out of touch elites” and compits to treating brain-damaged thugs like business gods...
Not that i have anything against brain-damages thigs. Just that we shouldnt be surprised when they struggle to string a sentence together and dont know even basic business practices.
“But the game needs to be run by REAL Rugbu league people”. Yeh, look where 100 years of that has got us...
