Vote for the people who are building infrastructure or vote for the people cancelling infrastructure projects? hmmmmmm

How simplistic.

You could also say:

Vote for the people giving corporate welfare to build unnecessary infrastructure or vote for the people being financially careful.

I've always been a Labor voter, but you can not deny that the previous Labor government put us at least 15 years behind in infrastructure in NSW. It is the primary reason the state is building so much now, we are playing catch up!

Maybe they should have just given ANZ to the AFL and built a new rectangular stadium out there.

Would have saved on the Spotless thing too.
They'd ask for a roof and increased capacity as the stadium keys were handed to them.

Unnecessary infrastructure like the metro for Sydenham to Bankstown, Northern Beaches tunnel, Northconnex....WestConnex...

You use financially careful referring to the Labour Party , where in the heck do you get that. The last Labour govt did buggar all, somehow put the State into debt and left NSW as the worst performing mainland state, with infrastructure years behind the growth in numbers

Please , if you want to dispatch NSW into the same basket as SA, that's for you to decide . But financially careful give me a break.

Why do you think polling is indicating he may well lose his seat? Labor have been running hard on him saying he doesn't give a stuff about the locals and using the SFS issue as a prime example. Last poll mentioned publicly had him deadlocked with the ALP candidate.

The fact he is at the station every day shows he is worried

I'm not really a defender of the Labor Party.

But this spending is pointless.

NSW is regarded as the leading state in the country, we have ageing stadiums compared to everywhere else and we have to play catch up. Infrastructure across the board has needed to be ramped up, after 15 years of announcements and nothing else.

The stadiums are 1% of the overall spend, and all this stuff about schools and hospitals, have you actually looked. They are being upgraded and built just about everywhere.

All the rhetoric from Daley is typical lefty nonsense, find a thought bubble and continue without understanding the real needs. Labour is running a Green agenda, quite a worry.t

The $18 Million expenditure was just to illuminate the exit signs, upgrade the electricity boards and not much else.It did not address the needs for toilets, safety , fire exits and all other upgrades to complete the requirements for OHS etc

As usual the Daley camp have only one policy, and it's full of holes pretty much like Allainz stadium was. Don't understand with such a small percentage in the overall spend why it's an issue. Pwrhaps they want to see th State continue its poor position behind all other mainland states, then again if you're silly enough or so young you don't remember the disaster of the last Labour NSW govt , you get what you vote for.

No but how much extra would toilets and a new changerooms been? Lets say $100m it wouldn't have such issues and then go from there

I don't think it will matter because ALP won't win but to say value for money is hard with such reports

That’s it... should’ve rectified that stuff, done ANZ and planned for an Allianz rebuild in ten years. Sure the roofline could be better but other than that for the most part Allianz is far from terrible.

This is my concern and what I keep saying to my friends who vote Labor. I am a Labor man through and through, and have been a Labor member for some time. But the NSW party is a basket case. Have people forgotten the Carr-Iemma-Rees-Keneally years? Announce a metro line on Tuesday, quietly cancel it on Thursday but some influential ALP backer somehow gets a multi-million dollar payout for 'consulting' on it?

I've not seen anything that makes me think there has been a single iota of reform in the NSW branch of the ALP since they lost office.

There was ways around it BUT not to keep mates in the trust happy

I’m surprised the liberal party didn’t run harder on the chaos of the last 8 years of labor, it’s hardly been mentioned.

This is an ideal opportunity for nsw Govt to take away the new allianz, whatever it may end up looking like, away from the scg management and put it under the same smc as the other stadiums. If nothing else that has to be a future positive and can also justify a much smaller rebuild of allianz.

Has anyone explained why it has to be 45k and $730mill not 30k and $360mill?
