Look, I'm not going to engage you any further on this because you've made up your mind and I genuinely can't be bothered any longer when the original point as to why they have to be done simultaneously - otherwise the risk that the second one is not done at all, or is done incredibly poorly is too great - remains my original point.
Yes. Yes i have. Just like you have made up your mind by ignoring all the evidence that currently the grounds that are taking the workload of ONE of the stadiums is not looking good, but you want to RISK removing another stadium from that.
We have very different outlooks on which is the riskier proposition for the game, players & fans.
So far your outlook on the risk is more to do with Government money (am i wrong on this?) and maybe the coffers being empty by the time ANZ comes around if they wait. Its the liberals. They will just sell off more shit and make the taxpayers pay for it.
And at least my view point isnt jumping to "Lets use Belmore" even though we cant, and "Spotless is a top tier stadium". You definitely havent been reading any of the issues the wanderers and the giants have had at that stadium have you, its not top tier, its a shit show. Then claiming Super Rugby is losing a home game next year, when its not to the year after.

People seem to think the sky is falling when it's really not that big a deal. We'll still have one world class stadium in Sydney with BankWest and clubs just have to manage their use of the suburban grounds along with the SCG and the Showground.

I think the only club that really needs to look at their match allocation for next year is the Roosters. The Bulldogs can play more games at Belmore with derby's at BankWest, and Souths can look at the Showground or BankWest. A couple of extra games at Gosford for the Chooks should solve some of the problems of the SCG.

It's a couple of seasons of pain at ovals and suburban grounds and we'll end up with three world class rectangular stadiums that could handle 90% of the matches in Sydney if they had to.

SCG says otherwise. Brookie and Kogarah was stuffed by other sports... So no one ground can't handle all

just looking at https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/lcdocs/inquiries/2483/Final report - Sydney stadiums strategy.pdf

So we still wont get the brand new stadium with all the trimmings.

2.40 Infrastructure NSW explained that the scope of the project's options was adjusted to remove 'two items of emerging technology, namely the "media halo", which is an LED display at the leading edge of the roof, and the "club mode curtain" which would allow the venue to be configured to a smaller size for club matches'.136 Infrastructure NSW indicated this adjustment was proposed by 'external reviewers as a way of moderating the cost of the project'.137 The original scope of the project was estimated to cost up to $775 million, while the adjusted project reduced this to a cost of $729 million.

Per the Sydney FC CEO, Club Mode is still happening, it just won’t be an LED curtain. Instead likely to be some type of fabric curtain.

It’s interesting though, you can bet they didn’t cut the largess from the members/trust areas.

LED halo would’ve been cool.

Apparently part of the problem with Brookvale Oval (acccording to a story published in the Sydney Morning Herald this morning) is that during the week the Oval is open for public recreation. Thus any and all sundry people can be using the pitch during the week like any regular park without hiring the whole stadium.

If that is correct, then it means the turf has less chance to recover for use by professional sports.

That’s because it’s public land and it has been ever since the former owner gave it as a gift to the people of the northern beaches. It legally has to be available when not being hired out.

big hit!

The ground is open for folks to walk their dog around the concourse and up and down the hill. The playing area generally has a little a-frame sign up telling all to KEEP OFF THE FIELD. Whether folks generally adhere to it, or if a bunch of foreigners set up make shifts goals and have a kick about every now and again is beyond my knowledge

how the f**k do you mow that?
Most sports have a length they want the grass mown to, and the mower is set to that length. The synthetic fibres are usually below the level of the top of the grass at that min length. So no harm done.

At WSS the grass will be mown differently depending on the sport. The A league field will be mown close the NRL length will be quite a bit longer.

Marvel stadium is AFL owned and was labelled a disgrace on the weekend. SCG had it earlier so it isn't just suburban grounds
