If you put it near the Airport was between Penrith and Campbelltown. So WT and Panthers could use it and actually Liverpool council so maybe Dogs use it. New Soccer team gives plenty of tennants...But the horse has bolted now
WT will commit to play the majority of their games at Bankwest in the near future, so there is no benefit to the government if they are included for the Panther's Stadium. The Horse has definately bolted because if Penrith had of pushed for Blacktown for WSS it could have had tenants of Penrith, Parramatta, WT and WSW. The panthers needed to strongly push that agenda instead of a pipe dream of a stadium in Penrith.

Panthers Stadium is now probably the best single-use club ground in Sydney.
I love going to Panthers Stadium and is one of my favourite grounds to watch footy, can still get decent seats for GA prices too. In saying that the Eastern Stand is in need of replacement very very soon.

I’ve mentioned before but Penrith should try and get the Matilda’s to base themselves out there. They’ve played a few game at the stadium and drawn good crowds. I’d also try and get any FFA Cup matches of the Wanderers.

Thats a good strategic idea.
Which ever grounds we want upgraded in the near future should also try to get the Jillaroos and womens state of origin team to base themselves out of their ground. Maybe pay them some money to play their games there.
If I was the Panthers I would fire Gould and whoever else was responsible for not putting in a WNRL bid. They could have been the sole Western Sydney WNRL representatives.

Speaking of good strategic ideas

The NRL has a fancy new stadium in Parramatta.
The NRL has also organised a Test double header featuring Samoa and Lebanon as headliners.

This writes itself, right?

Wrong!
The NRL has scheduled it for... Leichhardt.

Has anyone from the NRL actually ever been to Parramatta or its surrounding suburbs?

And they chose Wollongong for the Aus v NZ test. Absolute turkeys.

On a side note, and more related to the Future Stadiums topic.

I wonder what the food will be like at WSS?

In my dreams, it's a real cultural mix taking inspiration from Parramatta's surrounding suburbs and the modern 'food truck' culture.
Have your typical stadium food, but also:
Lebanese, greek, italian, indian, chinese, etc.
Riverside brewery running the taps alongside the XXXX golds.

Reality: $6 microwaved pies and $11 light beers from QLD

I think this is a real concern as the stadium will be operated by VenuesLive which is the same company that runs ANZ, so i would expect similar to what they provide.

A bland and overpriced wasted opportunity.

This is one area where game day experience could be easily improved.

Penrith is the only one of the Sydney suburban grounds I see with a real future. Decent now and the Leagues club has endless cash to splash, they could realistically afford to upgrade it.
Maybe Campbeltown Sports, with the new A League team giving it a good chance of quality upgrades.

Kogarah, Brookvale, Shark Park, Leichhardt. Single club parks, very little financial backing from owners and/or councils. Their use in first grade will decline over the coming years.

I agree that the new A-League club coupled with the population boom in the south-west gives Campbelltown a chance of upgrades, but it needs a lot more work than Penrith.

Given that there's an A-League club there you'd hope the Tigers will maintain a strong presence out that way, possibly an 8/4 split with BankWest could do it?

Problem is the hit the club takes on crowds out there. I think they need to bite the bullet and go to Bankwest fulltime with 1, maybe 2, heritage game at each of Leichhardt and Campbelltown each year.

It was never going to be a Penrith stadium though just for those way out west. Kinda instead of using Penrith and Campbelltown stadium. Out near where the airport is going we would just use it most

However there are plans for the Campbelltown to be renovated into an 18,000 all-seater for the A-League team which would improve fan experience.

The Tigers need to maintain a strong presence out there to counter the A-League team.

That is the great unknown. rumours were food vans outsides that could be good if it happens

They’ve said a lot things, many of those have since changed.

Penrith is a knife edge seat both state & federally. There’s nothing politicians like more than pork barrelling.

Plus they could easily come to an agreement to buy the stadium off the local council.

That's what they did with nib. State govt paid a hefty sum to local council for a 50 year lease agreement before it could invest $125mill building the two new stands.

The population will be there even the airport will make travel there easier..Problem is not sure there is the usage for a new ground.

That was not what the Panthers club were pushing for though, their push was for the stadium to be in Penrith, which was just stupid!
