However there are plans for the Campbelltown to be renovated into an 18,000 all-seater for the A-League team which would improve fan experience.
That would need to happen very soon, otherwise I don't know how the WT can keep playing there!

It was never going to be a Penrith stadium though just for those way out west. Kinda instead of using Penrith and Campbelltown stadium. Out near where the airport is going we would just use it most

I think planning for a stadium near the airport is still a great option. It’s halfway between Penrith and Campbelltown and the centre for huge population growth over the next few decades. The government is planning to make the area “the 3rd city” of Sydney after the CBD and Parramatta.

Not saying the stadium will happen anytime soon - it would probably be in another 10-15 years. But the NRL/clubs should already be considering it for future plans.

That was not what the Panthers club were pushing for though, their push was for the stadium to be in Penrith, which was just stupid!

That was Harness Racing NSW. They were going to sell property to fund part of the cost. The club has pushed for a Stadium out west somewhere but never said Penrith only.

Even if the new Soccer team plays there and WT have a few there as long with the Panthers. throw in some concerts and other events and it could work but ANZ is next to be sorted

These articles say otherwise!

The Panthers have been working closely with the government in the hope of a new stadium being built in Penrith, with plans drawn up for a $350million complex on the site of Sportingbet Stadium.

Panthers Group CEO Warren Wilson AM has joined outgoing Penrith Mayor Ross Fowler OAM in declaring Penrith the logical location for a new stadium in Western Sydney.

On a side note, and more related to the Future Stadiums topic.

I wonder what the food will be like at WSS?

In my dreams, it's a real cultural mix taking inspiration from Parramatta's surrounding suburbs and the modern 'food truck' culture.
Have your typical stadium food, but also:
Lebanese, greek, italian, indian, chinese, etc.
Riverside brewery running the taps alongside the XXXX golds.

Reality: $6 microwaved pies and $11 light beers from QLD

They’re planning for food trucks & boutique beer to be a part of it.

Near the airport??

Pfft take a lead off Gibraltar and have it next to the airport.

And what the f**k makes Panthers Stadium so much better than Campbelltown?

Been to both plenty of times and not much difference between them imo (apart from better food at Penrith)

Their was an early plan for a $500m one with a roof. I think Harness Racing dropped off but the council and club kept going
Up until WSS was announced as being in Parramatta, the club was pushing for WSS to be in Penrith. When they should have put their support behind WSS being built at Blacktown, this decision has put them in poor place in regards to stadium infrastructure.

Penrith has better corporate facilities in the Western Stand. Both stands at Campbelltown are far better than the Eastern stand at Penrith and you are much closer to the field in the stands at Campbelltown also. Both stands at Penrith are back a little too far to be a preference for seating for me.

Both are under used. always using Leichhardt for things lower grade finals. Should use Campbelltown more

If the reality is $6 pies and $11 light beers, how much do you reckon they're going to flog some decent shit for?
