The SCG... to think this was our spiritual home for so many years. What an absolute rubbish venue for Rugby League. One game a year is too much when all our regular venues are available. Once a decade for the memories would do plenty. It’s a disgrace that we’d sanction holding a Grand Final at the SCG just to greedily prevent any other city hosting it even as a one-off.

Cue outrage.

I understand safety regs and was pointing it out because the new western stand of mcdonald Jones has no guard rail at their allocated disabled seating, I wonder how they got around it.

Would depend on the distance from sitting area to drop off area.

Deflect your lack of understanding of your clubs operations as much as you like lol
PR, I had an absolute ball at Penrith leagues club before (and after) attending a game - the place had such a fun vibe and it would be a travesty if the place went bust - not sure why anyone would hope for that.

Given you are an expert. You would know that Panthers leased out their gaming takings for the next few years?

Used it to fund a hotel (100% owned by them) to go with the $47m conviention centre (jointly funded with the State and Federal govt).

So why the other developments revenue mostly go too developers. The 3rd one is just for the club

No chance of that. 4 major developments in progress. 2 of whom the club is doing without help for other investors

No one is, my commentary is on jnr funding, and justification of pokie dens. This muppet tebbrought up the tried and tested PR wants Sydney clubs to die, to deflect he is wrong lol.

Yes I do,
majority of the developments you posted are from partnerships with developers and investors, or the expenditure isn’t sitting on the panthers groups books?
Looks very impressive and a real boom to Penrith city I would imagine.

Such a disgrace to hold the Grand Final at a venue that has provided many of the greatest moments in the history of the game.A disgrace to hold the GF at the same iconic venue which gave birth to the actual trophy that any captain dreams to hold aloft.

Lets hold it in Melbourne at the wonderful MCG which provides such history for the game of Rugby League and with grandstands that are just so close to the action.

It's rubbish. Sometimes history should stay where it belongs.

The Grand Final should be at Suncorp while ANZ is out of action. The SCG will be a sub-par fan experience and with the reduced capacity they will charge an absolute fortune for tickets. Wait and see

Tigers, Knights, Manly and even the Cowboys with their building ripped straight out of that film Oblivion are all getting government funding for their centre of excellences. Penrith are the only ones who paid for all of it. They're doing fine financially.

Hopefully the government remembers this so when it comes to an outer western sydney stadium they chuck Penrith at least a dollar next time.

Womens sport is where the votes and ergo the money is at. Panthers need to attract the Jillaroos to their CofE, a womens NRL team, the matildas and the govt will throw money at them to improve the stadium!

They should definitely take at least one of them to Suncorp. It appears to me the NSW govt has broken the deal to start construction at the end of this year.

If I was the NRL I’d say to them if construction is complete by October 2021, then the GF will be in Sydney. If not we’re taking it on the road.

There was a report saying it could be done in 20 months, the above timeline would give them 19 months presuming construction started in March 2020.

Nope, developers and investors are mostly paying for those projects. jnr sport in the panthers district gets $250k directly from Panthers group and whatever the NRL panthers spend on jnrs which is covered by the $5mill the panthers group gives to the NRL club to cover its losses.

I shouldn't have to ask this but I assume those junior sporting clubs are RL clubs? I would hate to think that Panther's leagues club are handing out grants to AFL or RU clubs just because they are in the Penrith area.

Dunno about other winter sports, but why shouldn't a local club sponsor local sides regardless of code? Just because it's a leagues club doesn't mean it shouldn't give to the local community.

Anyway Panthers are a major sponsor to the Penrith Cricket Club, got a mate who plays for them. Not sure whether the structure out there means that gets to junior sides or not (eg here in Canberra, several of the grade clubs also administer junior clubs so sponsorship money includes that) but it's not like that money will only go to winter sports.
