I must say that this stadium is looking fantastic and is going to be such a fantastic boost to the Townsville local economy and the NRL in general. A great investment by the state govt.
Let's just hope that Stadiums QLD doesn't rip them off with obscene rental. The Govt will get their money back from increased taxes on local tourism. There is no need to rip off the Cowboys.
I'm hoping the Cowboys can engage a fair deal like the Eels and Wanderers did at Bankwest.

my understanding is (and let’s not forget I’m a pea brain) that we took out a $10mil loan to go towards the stadium build, the NRL are covering the interest on this loan. The $10mil covers the first 10 years rent so roughly $85k a game. Not sure if that’s cheap or not but whatevs. We simply couldn’t stay at 1300’s much longer, it’s well past it’s used by date and is not in the right location moving forward.

Pretty pissed at the lack of pics from official sources, there was a company hired to do time lapse shit so but news has been very quiet on that front. I hope that’s is actually happening and not crossed off the list due to cost blow outs.

Yes,level 6 stays (24,000 seats)
blame the Labor Party,SCG Trust and the bald hanky guy.

46,000 seats will be completely relocated,including lower and middle tiers.

Nothings been announced. The total footprint of the precinct is quite large, my old School (Ryan Catholic College) surrounds it with both it’s primary and high school campuses , I’d say they might take a chunk of it to expand. I hope the lighting and seats get recycled though.
