We thought the same in Sydney. But it went so well. It was actually easier to drive to work. Everybody was car pooling or working from home. Many people went on leave/holidays to experience the games period.

and we got 3 weeks of school holidays instead of 2.

This will be great if and only if two things happen.

- This is designed to be converted to a rectangular stadium immediately after the games are done (Lions dont need more than 20k seats but VFLhq would never let this happen)

- Brisbane gets a second and maybe even a 3rd team playing out of the city centre.

Honestly though, i feel like there are better ways to spend this money. Olympics usually lose money for the host city so its not an investment, just an ego boost.

Tbh, the only thing that excites me as a New South Welshman about another Brisbane team would be the rivalry. If it's anything like the derby with NQ, then we will be spolit - Like Manchester United (the old bulls) v Manchester City (the recently heavily funded team). I think if there were a Central Coast team, the derby with Newcastle would be great also.

Can you still see the airport, Port Botany and oil refineries?

Airport,Brighton Beach,Botany Bay ,Lights of Sydney, mud crab in the mangroves. Clean sea air.No carbon monoxide fumes from Valiants with dogs on the dashboard with nodding heads.
No refinery, just holding tanks.Refinery ceased operations a couple of years ago.Golf course over the road.

Jewel of the South.

Swamp now worth a king's ransom with all the new modern units being built.Soon coffee lounges ,restaurants,Leagues club ,medical centres, hotel .Woolworths, Aldi, Dan Murphy's for all the visiting alcos, maybe a dentist for Souff's fans. We're getting it all baby.

Towra point ( with fishing sanctuary) is between the shark park and port botany/airport
So it sort of blocks the view.
It will from the clubs beer garden veranda .

I took the Central to Hornsby train the other day. I think a 30k stadium over the train lines at Hornsby would be a good spot. Easy to get to by train from everywhere.
Move the Sea Eagles there. Anyone?
