Not sure, but if the dog own that land, wherever it is, then they can build whatever they like on it... plus if the Liverpool stadium doesn't go ahead, fixing up belmore and campbelltown surely would be more suitable for the NRL, in terms of clubs/fans push back, plus finally pushes tigers to play in the macarthur area for 9 games rather than the nomadic presence they have now... the tigers director has already pushed for the idea to play moreso in campbelltown in future, i think a 9/3 split between Campbelltown and Leichardt is better than sharing with bankwestWoodward Place set to transform Liverpool City Centre over the next 30 years
Liverpool City Council today released the Woodward Place Master Plan for public exhibition detailing Council’s bold vision to transform the 28-hectare Woodward Park into Woodward Place, a precinct which will inject new life and connectivity into the heart of the City.www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au
Does this kill off this location for a Liverpool stadium? Isn't this where the Bulldogs own the land?
A lot of european clubs built their own grounds a long time before the arabs and oligarchs got involved. If they could finance them with just themselves playing there then don’t see why nrl couldnt finance one with income from three tenants, naming rights, other events etc etc.pi
you mean european soccer clubs & NFL clubs owned by arab & russian billionaires. We don't have that here .. the interest bill alone would start at around 15 million per year ( interest & principal 30m) , leaving in lean years nothing for grass roots development etc
its a dog of an idea
we do have exellent management , delivering a 50 million profit in one year during a global pandemic while your beloved AFL has dropped about 60 million over the last 2 years.A lot of european clubs built their own grounds a long time before the arabs and oligarchs got involved. you’ve been telling me enough we’ve got outstanding management delivering a $50mill surplus, shouldn’t be a problem with such leaders managing the $’s lol.
because the offer was rubbish.Still happened? they knocked back the offer
So no worries covering cost of a stadium then.we do have exellent management , delivering a 50 million profit in one year during a global pandemic while your beloved AFL has dropped about 60 million over the last 2 years.
Pretty sure we can work out from that who managed their sport well over covid & who didn't do so well eh einstein ?
Im pretty sure they didn't want to be owned by an overseas tycoon of sorts, the money would have set them up for eonsbecause the offer was rubbish.
Agreed! The AFL push for new facilities all the time and don't seem to care about not having more than one tenant or use cases. They just care than their AFL team has a ground to play at.
There or next door to there is the Bulldogs land from my memory.Woodward Place set to transform Liverpool City Centre over the next 30 years

lets talk about a Liverpool stadium in 30 years time then. maybe Liverpool might have a team by then. There or next door to there is the Bulldogs land from my memory.
The dedicated busway runs by pretty close to there, the train station is a good walk away. Not too far but maybe a bit far for those with less mobility - but pretty flat walk.
Parra Stadium is already that stadium and it is available for all the western sydney teams.A RL stadium, be it Liverpool or elsewhere would be home to two NRL tenants as well as being the "home" of RL in Sydney so could host women's origin, all stars, test matches, world club challenges etc on regular basis. In fact anything the NRL wants to make an event and make a quid out of that is best suited to a 30k stadium.
But not owned by the NRL as the proposal for Liverpool is.Parra Stadium is already that stadium and it is available for all the western sydney teams.
and we didn't pay a penny for it & have to service a debt for the next 20 yearsParra Stadium is already that stadium and it is available for all the western sydney teams.
no worries covering the cost , but its a stupid idea & not essential like the afl having to buy docklands because its clubs were going broke playing out of it...So no worries covering cost of a stadium then.

if the govt won't build liverpool then our 2 clubs will be fine playing at the present grounds they play @, no need to panic.
If the code is going to venture into stadium ownership then its needs to be a far grander venture then a pissy little 25K seat venue.
I don't know why the Wests Tigers and MCBulls soccer have not come out with a joint statement for Campbelltown Stadium (CS). Bit like Commbank stadium it will have winter and summer anchor tenants.
It's a bit far SW for the Bulldogs to move. Having never been there on the surface it looks a decent venue. Right next door to rail it has ample parking around along with a leagues club. Even if Wests Campbelltown leagues don't have any ownership in the WT's anymore, they still sponsor the Tigers along with junior footy out that way so they have skin in the game.
WT's base 9 games at CS and 3 at LO will sort out the future for Tigers. Having the HQ in the inner west closer to city and beaches while having some sort of centre located in Campbelltown for the juniors will see WT's sorted.
I was originally in favour of a stadium in Liverpool but the distance from train station and lack of parking nearby has swayed me. Not sure what that means for the Bulldogs but they could be based in Stadium Oz/Commbank stadium as they are currently now.
And we don’t own it, have to pay rent on it and get a fraction of the revenue for its use that our own could offer.and we didn't pay a penny for it & have to service a debt for the next 20 years
