The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

I think the design looks pretty good, I just keep coming back to the problem of what purpose the stadium fills?

For a stadium that nice there will be very few genuinely significant events, the biggest it’ll host will be a minor wallabies test, NRL prelim & ANZAC day.

They’re even going so far as to have landscaping done on some of the upper levels of the stadium (behind the stands)

Politically it’s really amazing they’ve pushed this through, could well cost them the election. That’s how powerful the SCG trust, Gerry Harvey & Singo are.

Allianz is a complete waste of money. It's a disgrace there will be no full knockdown and rebuild of ANZ.

The entire thing is extremely dodgey. It shits me that they are in such a rush to knock it down.

How many SFS members seats are there ?

I thinks its around 15,000

As capacity is identical to the SFS I expect all of the western upper decks to be members seating

Noticed that public seating in the lower bowl has been reduced by around 10 rows

As the SFS doesnt usually open the eastern top deck and the new middle deck will be corporates we will see fans pushed behind the posts

big hit!

What would’ve you done differently? (Sincere question)

given land this building will be sitting on is at a premium, i'd go steep as f**k with the rake. the confines are tight at both the moore park rd and the SCG ends, so it's difficult to put a 2nd tier on the ends like WSS. in effect, WSS will be better. SFS will merely be a newer version of the current model. couldn't give a f**k about the whiz bang design of the roof. the curved nature of it means that folks at the front will get wet - guaranteed.

given i follow Syd FC and Souths could possibly return to Moore Park, I hope they get this right. It's all very rushed.

It is corruption of the highest order.

Any so called planning that went into this decision had preordained outcomes as early as the 2012 stadia strategy.

That the architects who suggested a possible stadium on reclaimed airspace at central got told "ohhh well. Too late" is such a slap in the face to the public interest.

Members & corporate combined would be about 15k I’d say.

I don’t think people being forced behind the posts will be a huge deal, most games there won’t reach that type of capacity. But behind the posts looks to have a much better rake than the current stadium.

Definitely agree on the rake, a little disappointed they didn’t go steeper. Perhaps there’s some solid reasoning behind it? Still it’s equal to Suncorp and people race about that.

People at the front might get wet but the overall covered seating is greatly improved.
