The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

I had a good look at the outside of Bankwest Stadium when I drove past there this morning. Whilst it looks very good, my only slight concern is the back of the stands/roof. It looks very similar to what the SFS was like as the back wall does not join "flush" to the roof, which lets the air in. My only concern (and I hope I'm very wrong) is if it is like the SFS was on the top deck when it was first built, then it will let all the conditions in including the rain.

I really do hope I'm wrong.

Not surprised, I haven’t heard building of new stadium being an issue in any other part of Australia. In fact in every other major city the plebeians are very proud of there top quality sports stadiums.

That's not quite true is it?
I was under the belief that the new Perth Stadium suffered massive backlash during its planning stages and political arguments regarding spending so much, as did the new Adelaide Oval.

As for your second comment, yes, stadiums have been very welcomed once built in other states. But they went through pain to get them built.
I'm seriously hoping that the Libs get a majority.
In 4 years time, Allianz will be re-built and ANZ will be getting reconfigured.
All other infrastructure projects currently underway in Sydney will be complete, and new projects will progressing.

There’s significant overhang of the roof on the outside, unlike what it was at the SFS. I heard it explained that they had to leave it open as there was nowhere else air flow.

Well that decides that. Election looks to have confirmed it too. We’re getting the big, gold-plated job at Moore Park.

Leigh.

Not in Perth, the only backlash was it took ten reports and numerous governments indecision of where to put it before it was finally built. Haven’t heard any negativity about it, it’s a lovely looking building that adds to the city area and as a venue is awesome, everyone is loving it.

Mind you it probably helped that they built a new children’s hospital and major hospital for southern suburbs at the same time!

Take 1/2 my roof off and it would be very breezy lol
Heated air in stands has elevated pressure compared to ambient (outside of stadium), incoming air increases localised pressure in the open part of the stadium because it has nowhere to go. With inadequate cross-ventilation, the heated and pressurised air is difficult to displace, especially at the back of the stands. Cross-ventilation also allows natural draughts resulting from heat generated in the stands.

Not talking massive differences in temp or pressure change but enough to make the spectators uncomfortable.

Voted Labor but their campaigning was basic and dreadful.

Consolation for me is that Gus Gould said a few months ago he believes Penrith will get a new 'state of the art' stadium by 2025 and he campaigned to get Ayres re-elected so maybe that's connected. Another consolation is that Peter Fitz, aka mr.stop wasting tax payer money despite being fine with the government wasting 20 million dollars on a rugby union centre in blacktown, is being forced to eat shit. So swings and roundabouts.

He will be the first one claiming a free corporate box at the new stadium for a Wannabes game. He and his feminazi wife are full of shit.
