The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Yes it is. If you build 7 stadiums in Liverpool each would have more tenants than Penrith. That doesn’t mean it’s smart.

The reality is. Tigers and Canterbury are close to all seated stadiums with infrastructure being built that will make trips there that can make trips less than ten minutes to all seated stadiums with decent support for disabled people. They’re serviced. Penrith isn’t. That’s why it’s prioritised. Simple

Manly are in exactly the same situation as penrith .. remote
& don't start with the theres more potential at penrith rubbish , Ive seen brookvale with crowds of 28K & been there with 26K & with brand new stadium & a winning team they'd be back in those numbers.

But
they're not getting a brand new stadium.
Nope, penrith is a pork barreling exercise & nothing more. So lets call it what it is.

The NRL knows where the new stadium should be & what is best for the game. Trouble is they don't have much say when votes for politicians in key electorates are concerned.

Manly is getting a brand new stadium though. It’s just gonna accomodate the 30mil nth grandstand. Tearing it all up would have wasted that and made no sense.

Manly have always wanted a 20k stadium, can’t find anything to suggest they wanted bigger.

Shame the nsw govt can’t see the value in a Liverpool stadium, and nrl doesn’t have the clout to force the decision.

so $300 on penrith, $200 on manly and $120 on anz. So where’s the other $180 mill going?

Penrith 12 games & some fluff
300 million

Manly 12 games & a but less fluff or none at all
100 million

seems fair to me
Incorrect, 11 games at Penrith, one in Bathurst, this will never change..
As for Manly, they should build a brand new stadium in Killara/Gordon area, and have a more Northern Suburbs presence, rather than just northern beaches, can share this new stadium with A-leagues Marniers, aswell as RU, and is more likely to get more crowds due its proximity to a train station, than what brookvale does

they should but, they're not going to. Brookie will be upgraded.
Penriths deal with bathurst will end when they start playing at the new venue in 2025. Maybe a trial or 2 out there but the govt will want all games played at the new venue if they're shelling out 300 mill.

its not brand new hahaha

the sthn stand is 45 years old, the western stand the same
the Arthurson stand & extension of the western stand are less then 20 years old.
But adding an eastern grand stand to the nthn stand does not a brand new stadium make.

Its a do-over

the govt isn't after value theyre after votes & so it wouldn't have mattered what clout the nrl has or doesn't.

200 mill for manly ?
they're building one stand not 66% of a new stadium unless there is new info ? , it'll be 100 mill ish
leaving either 280 mill with a roof on homebush , or 400 million without one.

Kogarah then comes into play
280 Mill & i think we forget kogarah & still push for liverpool & get that done , its almost enough to do it. Vlandys is influential & im sure he could get it.
400 Mill & we can get both a new eastern stand at kogarah & liverpool.

Putting 500mill into ANZ upgrades is better than any of the suburban 1 tenant grounds.
Got to make GF and other major games a better experience.

It absolutely wasn't a mistake.

They had to move so construction could go ahead faster, we were paid to close down our leagues club which worked well for us financially.

Besides the last 2 seasons have been largely interrupted by COVID. If ever you want to move away from your home it's during the last 2 seasons when the whole comp moved up to QLD or crowds weren't allowed.

Could they have moved more games interstate etc sure, but they weren't to know how rubbish Sharks fans are.

im not saying that they didnt have to move, they did and that deal was good
bankwest would have been much better for corporate dollars, given the rank and file didnt show up at all.
anyway, its all done now. theyll be back at shark park

There is no value for a major stadium at shark park, I actually wouldn’t want a commbank type ground there. I like it as it is. I didn’t know this information so sounds good.

I’m not anti manly (really I’m not) but why are they a candidate for a new stadium or major upgrade. Who other than them use it as a professional entity?
The Waratahs probably.

Well right now Penrith (Bluebet stadium) and Brookvale Oval (4 Pines Park) only have 1 tenant. But in the future, you could have A League teams as their second tenant. At the moment, there is three Sydney teams in the A League. I don't think three Sydney A League teams is enough.

My prediction for the Sydney stadium outcome -

Penrith New stadium - $250M-$300M

Brookvale Upgrade - $150M-$200M

ANZ Upgrade - $100M-$150M

Campbelltown New Stadium -
$180M-$230M

Considering how much money Parramatta Leagues Club pumps into its NRL side that would just about kill them off.
In response, Easts would have died a death without UncleNick pouring dollars into the team, with the lack of real support etc he has kept the Chooks alive.

Strangely Roosters couldn’t get anyone to basically sign the back of the Leagues Club door until the front of shirt sponsorship changed. Where it comes from is a moot point for all clubs, at least the League’s club is actually set up to support and fund the game.

Golf anyone 😜

The Northern Beaches and the North Shore are different places, geographically and culturally.

The team is called Manly-Warringah, and that's where they should play.
