The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

It should only have been a 30k stadium full stop. they also need to stop putting the whole crowd on the broadcast side like the roosters always used to.

The Roosters tried moving all their season ticket holders over to the eastern side (i.e. the side opposite the cameras) of the old SFS in the mid-late 1990s. Know what happened? The season ticketholders revolted, moved back to the western side and squatted in their old seats they'd had pre-move and refused to budge. The club relented anmd moved them all back.

Since then the Roosters won't move them as they know that its season ticketholders will not tolerate it. A mate of mine who was involved at that time told me, people were quite willing to quit paying and not renew if the move stood or if it was ever tried again - and he was talking about people who'd been ticket holders for like 10-20+ years at the time.

People pay for tickets to get good seats, and some do not want the glare in their eyes. They should not be there to be props for the TV cameras.

I would have done the same if the bulldogs ever pulled that one. I do note that the kennel and the Rabbitohs supporter group are always on the tv side. Never got a membership in that group.

apart from the Sharks, Manly & Penrith all Sydney based teams will play their Finals matches at either CB,HB, or SFS. And imo unless those three teams are versing another Sydney club I can’t see why they can’t play week 1 of the finals at their home grounds. Sharks v Storm/Cowboys won’t sell out any of them bigger venues, in fact probably wont half fill the SFS. Let the teams get a week 1 sell out home ground advantage. The team and their supporters deserve the best chance they can get at winning the match.

Nothing has been said at this time.
in all seriousness all they need to do is replace the hills at the current stadium with open stands and they can revamp/demolish the other stands later on. yes, I know there's a pipeline under one of the hills but surely modern engineering can incorporate it into the design?

anyway, does anyone know if the Penrith stadium is still going ahead?

Yes. Trying to get the land for free

Cr Bratusa said the proposal is all about ensuring what is in the best interest for Penrith, confirming his support for the stadium to be built on the Paceway site.

“The opportunity exists for us to now secure a state-of-the-art stadium on the Paceway site. It is not about Panthers. This is not about Penrith rugby league. This is all about delivering other major codes to our footprint,” he said.

“We have an opportunity to bring entertainment out here. To bring concerts out here. To help many charities by staging major events in a new facility.”

The Counsellor does a better job selling it then PVL did
