Roosters members - what's your seat allocation like? Did anyone have season tickets on the Western side now moved to the Eastern side (like Parra)? That'd be my big worry if Souths moved there - given the Western side of Accor obviously accommodates more than Allianz.

Seats were moved at Parra because they put all the corporate seats on the one side, that isn’t the case with Allianz.

Is that the best you can come up with? Even I expected a better retort.

So we are using an example of one dead game in one sport late in the season, overpriced in respects to the quality of entertainment one would likely receive (remember in a previous post I mentioned that there were other factors responsible for low attendances) to argue against the examples of pretty much other sport in the world.

There is a thing called correlation and causation.

The guy claimed that 1 game at Belmore is a big enough sample size to claim it gets the Bulldogs biggest crowds. Best to just ignore him

I’m a Bronze member and stuck behind the in goal - southern end, worse than old layout where we were between the ten metre mark and the dead ball. Apparently raising the stands to a steeper rake means there’s less seats. The eastern side is dominated by the more expensive packages, gold, silver and chook pen. I think corporate takes a chunk of realestate on the western side, unsurprising when you think back at what an afterthought it was with the old SFS.

So prices go up and have worse seats?

Or the seats just moved?

I'm a gold member. At the old SFS, my seats were in Bay 13, second row from the back, right in line with the players tunnel.

At the new one, I'm on the same side (i.e. the western side) but I'm in Bay 15 now and not in Bay 14 (which is where I would have been had I retained my exact same position as Bay 14 is where the player tunnel is) -

This is the seating plan from the Roosters website for 2023 memberships -

So yeah I got moved, but its one bay "north" of where I previously was. I pay for 2 memberships, and the price has increased by around $50 per seat for the year.

All of the above. I was pissed off and wrote to the club - especially after they sent us emails stating they would look after members who maintain their membership throughout the SCG stay. A lot of people I know dropped them. Although Bronze has gone up $50, new members pay another $50 on top of that. So they have looked after us, I guess.

TBF the bronze package is still reasonable at $250 but they could’ve at least included the corners which is reserved for GA?

This is what $100mill bought in 2012, 2 stands. 16k, 13kin the main stand Under a roof, 3k end stand unroofed. Food and toilet facilities under main stand. No corporate facilities. On top of that has been another $60mill spent on hbf park so far, and still needs another $100mill plus for a new west stand and roof over that south stand.

LO would need a sht more than $50mill to be anything like what an nrl stadium should be in the the 21st century.

Nah, just need a grand stand either side.

I heard stories of Parra members when they got CommBank, Hopefully the crowd doesn't fall too much as a result

You obviously didn’t understand my post otherwise you would have addressed the actual point, rather than make an extraneous point about developer costs’

These stadiums are built because that is precisely what people want or expect when watching professional sport or other events.

Think of it this way: if the majority of customers, on the other hand, wanted to sit on hills then you would see such stadiums used around the world, in the majority. Outside of international cricket grounds (in the vast minority notwithstanding) you just don’t see them in a professional sporting context.

Now that doesn’t mean NS Oval, Leichhardt Oval and the like don’t have their place, but that place is purely on a local level. People watching local sporting competitions, paying entry fees of $10, buying a pie or a sausage roll and sitting on a hill on a picnic blanket for example.,

Genius. Afl crowds actually gone down in recent times. Ppl still wanting those modern stadiums?! Did better before hahaha
