The premier is a tigers fan and lovers Leichhardt oval so yeh it’s a decent reminder it needs money

Prerrottwirp earlier this year or last year said Leichhardt Oval wouldn't be getting any money even though he follows the West Tigers. although not long after that there was the news from the Inner West council of the toilet block getting upgraded there lol.

I love Leichhardt Oval but its days of being able to host NRL games on a regular basis has expired. Very limited corporate facilities, dressing rooms and toilets that are falling to pieces, very limited parking and limited public transport to the venue. Even if you could spend $200-$300 million or more on it to bring it up to NRL standards the ground is in the wrong place nestled in suburban streets with no major parking and decent public transport links.

That's what we need, more development on the harbour, so many developments on the Harbour and Parramatta river now , let's just seal the whole lot off so only the rich and famous can use it. Do agree though the land would be worth a motza.

Apparently yes , the Tigers supporter seem to shun Campbelltown or shock horror the shiny new Commbank stadium with all the bells and whistles.
With the center of excellence being built at Concorde the Tigers are not going to give up that part of the city with Leichhardt oval and Wests leagues at Ashfield so unless some big decisions are made Campbelltown is going to be the poor cousin and Commbank is still going to be shunned well at least by a good percentage of their supporters.
I wonder if it was ever thought of while they were building the centre of excellence that Concorde oval could have been transferred into a nice 25, 000 capacity stadium, maybe it was and couldn't be done but until Leichhardt oval is completely closed and condemned I cannot see the Tigers wanting to move away from there.

Not a reason to spend millions on doing it up!

Yes I agree, the place needs an upgrade but cannot feasibly be upgraded to NRL level standard for so many reasons, it does need some money spent on it to make it safe for junior sports to be played there and other minor sporting fixtures but it's days of being a NRL venue are numbered and the money for anything NRL related upgrade wise spent elsewhere.
