If they spend $2b on QSAC that would easily be the stupidest decision in sport infrastructure history. With the $1b set to be split between Suncorp and Gabba for a tart up, that makes $3b.

Spend $1.5b on renovating Suncorp and increasing capacity to 65k, and spend the same rebuilding half of the Gabba so you can fit a track in.

knock it too the ground and build something 70 to 100k

that would have the best post games legacy for Brisbane which is what the ioc wants

a 100k rectangular stadium in Brisbane would be huge for the city and its favourite sport

with Brisbane likely to end up with 3 nrl clubs one day it would get regular use

Dolphins might even play more games there :)

That’s great except you’ve still got nowhere to hold the athletics
