I’m guessing it’s too steep for current OH&S laws. I’d like to see some terracing built over it, wouldn’t cost an inordinate amount and would add permanent capacity to the ground.
Probably stuck in the Auckland malaise of not being able to decide on a stadium strategy.

That’s my guess too but I am sure for the Anzac Day game they had a few hundred people sitting on the Northern hill. Whether that was supposed to happen or not is another thing, they might have just turned a blind eye to it. It might look mishmash but even if they could rope off the sections that are too steep and allow 1-2k up there for $10 a ticket as a short term solution.

Then like you say look for a more permanent solution that would allow them to use that end again. Ideally also while going for funding for a permanent Southern stand.

The French were nuts even considering using the River Siene for swimming.
It ain't no Sydney Harbour.

Many French people were not happy when it was announced. In fact there was a protest where French protesters were going to go upstream and take a dump in the river on the day the Mayor of Paris was going to show how safe it was to swim in after it had been cleaned.

Definitely looks like they allowed people to sit in some sections of the hill but not all for Anzac Day. I don’t think these were sold as extra tickets.

I’d say it’s certainly not helping right now- with a decision due on the main stadium at the end of the year I doubt there will be any major capital works announced in the near future. But Auckland still needs a second stadium, and if that ends up being Mt Smart, there’s a justification for some upgrades to it.

Yeah I’d say they weren’t sold, people probably just walked over and sat there.

Probably, just thought it seemed a fair few up there and weird there were a couple sections empty whilst the others were crowded if that was the case.

If they can let people sit on those middle sections around the scoreboard it’d be good if they could put 1-2k Northern GA/Standing tickets on sale next season, assuming they can’t get extra temp seating sorted that end by then.

All blacks game had the temporary stands in it’s a wonder why the warriors don’t do it for next season must be down to cost

If Auckland gets that new stadium will the warriors even give up mt smart ?

Warriors have said they won’t commit to any potential new/rebuilt stadium until they see what the deal is to play there. Hopefully they can negotiate a good deal with the Quay Park proposal if it gets approved, Eden Park meh. Although they do own the pub there so I’m sure 1-2 games wouldn’t be out of the question.

Also depends on what they do with Mt Smart in the whole process.

Tell me you are a big smart ass by acting like a big smart ass lol
Such stupidity being thrown around so flippantly has become a cancer on society these days.

It was a moronically stupid thing to say and the person who said it probably doesn't even realise it, just another useful idiot in what has become a society of useful idiots, and it's not surprising that you'd be one to give him a good glazing for saying it.

Auckland should at least have two stadiums- one large at 50k to 60k, and the other at 25k to 30k. It adds flexibility in scheduling of events. An example, last year the WWC was held at Eden Park, but the All Blacks played at Mt Smart stadium.

Auckland shouldn't repeat what Brisbane have done with having just one large rectangular stadium and no boutique venue of 20k.
