That was a gutsy win against the Premiers last night, great defence & line speed ... and like everyone, happy as with 10 wins in a row.

Maybe it was the nerves of a big game, and the Cows defended as well as they have all year ... but I thought our attack regressed a little. There were too many sets where we reverted to 4 one-out hits up, and relied on the one set play before a kick. And our 1 try was off an intercept (plus some Val brilliance). Yes we had to get into the grind etc ... but there's a balance there somewhere. The number of sets we had in their half without converting ... you just know in a finals game that after defending so long, a Morgan/Thurston (or Cronk/Smith) will convert their chances once they get them. Just a niggling doubt looking forward to the finals ...

But in the meantime, I'm enjoying the ride :)

We can improve on that & be there in Oct if injuries & luck are kind to us (and let's face, we deserve some after 50 years).

Its got me rooted what they are doing with the crowd calculations.

Once upon a time last night would have been announced as 18k minimum. There wasn't a spare spot in the joint.

Are you sure those guys were Dragons supporters? There was a big contingent of travelling Wigan supporters in their red and white.

Good post, yes that part of it is a worrying thought but we have also scored points this year. Lets hope we can peak at the right time.

Possibly mate, I was pretty sure it was a Merge jersey. he was on his own in a group of Sharkies fans. young bloke (early 20's). Looked like he was having a ball too.

years of fudging the crowd figures has made it confusing for us to pick it these days .

We don't do the dew anymore.

We are a dry weather team with Barba and the halves sliding when they went to step.

One thing I noticed last night was that as big as the crowd was I found it nowhere near as vocal as I would like. When the action was at the other end of the field and I started screaming at the top of my lungs I almost felt I needed to apologize to those around me. Think the crowd announcer should be broadcasting the classic chant "SHARKIES" (BANG HANDS ON GROUND FENCE x 3 like the very early days) regularly throughout the game and all and sundry join in.

So you just started screaming at the top of your lungs?

Seems normal.

Definitely true, we have played much better in the day so far this year.

Unfortunately nearly all the finals games (including the GF) are night games ...

Bout 11k I think. that's what I have seen around so ill just throw that out there

I heard that the Club needed 15k before they made a profit from staging the game.

When Zappia was about he said they needed 13k (I'm guessing that would have to include money being payed back to the Stained bank)

this year I have been told they need 9k

Average it out?
12k
:sarcasm:

No mate surf side Bay 11 about 6 rows back from the fence. Not much action in front and nobody giddying up so I did my best! Looking forward to studying the replay tonight in depth so I can see what everyone is talking about. Most of the action was miles away.
