Game day vs Roosters

We seemed determined to piggyback them out of their own end and bring them back into the game with stupid, unnecessary penalties. Then we looked lethargic in the second half while they were making easy metres every set. Still, I always felt fairly confident we would fall over the line.

Listening to the interviews after the game, nobody was under the illusion we played well. I would expect a more consistent and energetic effort against Newcastle.

players backing up from origin

roosters played fast, moved us around

we did well to contain their game plan

energy will be better next week

Some of the penalties were very poor calls

Agree. One thing that doesn't show up on the stats sheet is how hard players run. Heighno really wound up and charged into the line a couple of times tonight. Lifted the energy when everyone else looked flat.

Roosters were seriously up for that game and gifted penalties I the 2nd half. Good solid win for the boys

The HUBRIS shown in that game was appalling.

I'll take the win, but I hope Flanagan is pissed off at the disrespect we showed the Roosters tonight.

Disrespect really? Maybe we were a percent or 2 off, but they had a lot of pride to play for with their shit season and we with a top 2 almost guaranteed. Thought we really missed Feef, but job done.

we looked a cross between tired and arrogant/complacent.

some great stuff(we can score) mixed with shite (defense and stupidity).

i'd be rolling out the backups next week. rest a few of those blokes(gals off already - lewie, heighno, jimmy maybe).fifs has had a break so he's good.

maybe an easy week training wise.

The attitude we displayed reeked of arrogance and it annoyed me.

I'm glad we won, and I like that we believe in ourselves, but the 'dab' by Chad, the Bukuya chip and chase and the general sloppiness pissed me off.

We can dab our hearts out when we win the GF.

Agree - we didn't play with enough structure and patience.

Some of the ref calls (e.g. the Barba 'strip') were pretty average.

If we rebound against the Knights, we could have a big win - hope so. The fact that the Storm only beat them by 4 is good for us, as well.

In regards to for and against
In this competition the minor premiership is not as important as a 1 or 2 finish, for the Storm.
Sounds stupid but it's true.
You can nearly guarantee that Bellamy will be aiming for a first week home final. Anything after that is just a bonus.
Remember that Melbourne has a genuine home game final, if we play an interstate team then ours is too but if we play a Sydney team, ala the Bulldogs, the home final is nullified.

Incorrect. We play at the SFS regardless of who we play.
